Born on February 26, 1927, in Louisville, Ky., she was a daughter of the late George, Sr. and Anna Brady Pfeiffer. She was a devoted homemaker, member of the Pembroke Christian Church, loved the fellowship of the local bingo halls, and for over twenty-five years was a weekly volunteer at Heritage Hall Health Care in Blacksburg. She is preceded in death by a sister, Georgina Daughtery and two brothers, George Pfeiffer, Jr. and Elmer Pfeiffer. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lorenzo Brumfield, Sr; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lorinza and Melissa S. Brumfield , Ronnie and Violet Brumfield, all of Pembroke; three grandchildren, Dana Robertson of Louis, Delaware, Nicole Collins and Bendy Brumfield of Pembroke; two great-grandchildren, Loren and Jaden Robertson; two stepgrandchildren, Lisa Tankersley of Beckley and Lynette Osborne of Pembroke; two step-great-grandchildren, Kaley Tankersley and Jacob Osborne; one brother, Ben Pfeiffer of Louisville, Ky; one sister, Emma Lee Johnson of Louisville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 26, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow Street in Pembroke with burial following in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 218, Pembroke, Va. 24136. on February 25, 2003.²

Born in Pembroke on January 8, 1912, she was a daughter of the late George and Victoria Link Martin. She had been employed for many years at Pembroke Pharmacy and was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil M. Poff; and several sisters and brothers. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary C. and Debra Robertson Poff of Pembroke; several sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. on February 18, 1998.¹

Born September 4, 1931 in Dublin, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ida Saunders. Surviving are her husband, Joseph Andrew Poff; children, Linda S. Simmons and husband, Joseph, Roanoke, Michael A. Poff, Salem, Jody Cronk and husband, Paul, Anthony (Tony) E. Poff, Jack L. Poff, Melanie M. Fisher and husband, Chad, all of Roanoke, Kenneth (Kenny) D. Poff and Alice Huff, Moneta; grandchildren, Dennis Ray Cronk, Patrick (Andy) Simmons, Theresa Gayle Simmons, Daniel David Cronk, Aaron Mackenzie Ingraham and Joseph Austin Fisher; sisters, Evelyn Hillman, Richmond, Va., Gladys Jenkins, New Castle, Delaware, Peggy Langston, Virginia Beach, Va; brothers, Jerry Saunders, Roanoke, Randolph Saunders, Courtland, Va. and Edgar Saunders of Virginia Beach, Va; a number of nieces and nephews. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on September 7, 2000.³

     Anthony Eugene "Tony" Poff was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.^2,6 His Social Security Number was 228-88-0765.¹¹ He was born on July 25, 1956 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^11,3,5,6 He died on April 18, 2006 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 49.^1,2,11,5,6,7 He Anthony E. (Tony) Poff, 49, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Tony was a graduate of Northside High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Saunders Poff. Surviving are his father, Joe; brothers, Michael, Kenny, and Jack; sisters, Linda, Jody, and Melanie; a number of nieces and nephews, two greatnieces; daughter, Monica; and granddaughter, Jade. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the VA Hospital and to the staff on 12 West at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their many acts of kindness. A special thanks to Dr. Gooding. A private graveside service was conducted in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on April 21, 2006.²

     Linda Suzanna Poff was born on March 3, 1950 at Roanoke, Virginia.^4,5 As of July 5, 1974,her married name was Simmons.⁴ She married Joseph Lonzey "Joe" Simmons on July 5, 1974 at Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,3,4,7 Linda Suzanna Poff died on January 8, 2021 at Virginia at age 70.⁷ She Linda Poff Simmons, 70, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. and Ethel Saunders Poff; brothers, Michael A and Anthony E. "Tony" Poff. Linda was a 1968 graduate of Northside High School and earned her degree in Horticulture from Virginia Western Community College. She was a devoted and supportive Navy wife and involved in the activities of the Navy Wives Club. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Joseph L. Simmons; daughter, Theresa Simmons (Keith) Bush; son, Patrick "Andy" (Jennifer Dinneen) Simmons; grandchildren, Haleigh, Abigail, and Olivia Bush; sisters, Jody P. (Paul) Cronk, Melanie P. (Chad) Fisher; brothers, Kenny D. (Micha) Poff and Jack L. Poff; numerous nieces and nephews. on January 10, 2021.⁷

     Michael Andrew Poff was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.³ He was born on April 3, 1951 at Roanoke, Virginia.⁴ He died on October 18, 2016 at Virginia at age 65.³ He Michael Andrew Poff, 65, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Andrew and Ethel Saunders Poff; and a brother, Tony Poff. Michael was a 1969 graduate of Northside High School and had worked in funeral service for over thirty years. One of Michael's greatest moments was meeting country singer, Alan Jackson in 1999. Surviving are his sisters, Linda Simmons, Jody Cronk and Melanie Fisher; brothers, Kenny and Jack Poff; numerous beloved nieces and nephews. At Michael's request his body was cremated and laid to rest in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens next to "Baby Isiah" to whom a grave was given in 1990. on October 30, 2016.³

     James Taylor Harris was buried at Blue Ridge Cemetery, 12319 Grandview Road, Grandview, Jackson Co., Missouri.² He was born on August 9, 1861 at Jackson Co., Missouri.² He died on July 31, 1876 at Missouri at age 14.²

     Elby Barton Harris was born in July, 1871 at Jackson Co., Missouri.³ He married Mary G. Smart circa 1890.³ Elby Barton Harris died before April 10, 1940; His wife was enumerated as a widow in the 1940 Census.⁴
