Jim Johnson. He was born Feb 11, 1895, at Morrisville, Mo., and spent his childhood at Jasper, Mo. He taught school for a year in Polk County, Mo., and served in the Army during World War I. He married Laura M. Pugh in 1924 at Twin Falls, and she died Dec. 28, 1979. They lived at Twin Falls for three years until moving to Filer in 1927 where Mr. Johnson owned and operated the Sunny Chix Hatchery until his retirement. He was a past member of the First Baptist Church of Filer and held many offices in church. Surviving are: a daughter, Betty Jo Ebersole of Burley; two sons, Marshall Johnson of Filer and Rev. Jim Johnson of Pocatello; a sister, Edith Bugg of Springfeld, Mo; a brother, Leonard Johnson of Wichita, Kan; seven grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is also preceded in death by a daughter, Marianne Johnson, and a brother, Willie Johnson. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the White Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Will Lane officiating, assisted by the Rev. Roy Watson. Burial will be in the Filer IOOF Cemetery. on January 1, 1982.⁴

They made their home in Filer following his discharge from the service. He worked for his father, Lindsay, at the Sunny Chix Hatchery and also as an independent painting contractor for 30 years. He had also served as a member of the Filer City Council. He was a charter member and had held many offices in the First Baptist Church of Filer. He was a member of the Filer American Legion and the Filer Masonic Lodge No. 55 AF. & AM. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife, Bette of Filer; a son and daughter-in-law, Lindsay and Gini Johnson, and their children, Gina and Jeff; a daughter and her husband, Suzan and Jay Ronk, and their children, Jayson and Becky, a brother, the Rev. Jim Johnson of Oregon City, Ore; and his sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Keith Ebersole of Orange, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marianne Johnson. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1992, at the Filer IOOF Cemetery with the Rev. James Amend officiating. on November 29, 1992.⁴

Wanda attended Linfield College in McMinnville, OR. for 1 year. She worked as a bank teller in Filer, ID, and as a Secretary for Eugene Public Schools. Wanda was also associated with EasternStar. Wanda loved to volunteer for Meals on Wheels, cook, work in her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed sports, traveling and physical education classes. She is survived by her daughter Gwen Jensen of Omaha, Nebraska and son Brian Rutter of Eugene, OR. on May 9, 2013.²

A native of Spartanburg, she was the widow of Lowell M. Reed and daughter of the late Jesse W. and Ollie Davis Boyd. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. SIRK, 92, of Decatur, on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, 11:05 p.m., at her residence. Born Jan. 7, 1925, in Adams County, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Vilas Luginbill and Ruth M. (Parr) Luginbill. She married James W. Sirk on Dec. 3, 1950, at Bethel Brethren Church; he preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 2003. She was a member of the North Highlands Church of Christ in Fort Wayne where she had worked in the nursery and was also involved with the Miriam Circle group at church. Alice also enjoyed volunteering for different organizations in the Aboite community in Fort Wayne. Alice was a homemaker. Prior to her children being born, she was also a hairdresser and owned the Studio Beauty Salon in Fort Wayne. Following the birth of her first son, she sold the business, but continued being a hairdresser for over 20 years. Alice was also an Avon Representative for many years. One of the greatest rewards she received during those years was meeting and interacting with her customers. Alice was an avid doll collector and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and needlework. Bowling and fishing were also favorite hobbies of hers. Surviving are her sons, J. Wylie (Jeanie) Sirk II of Decatur, Ind., and Fritz (Lori) Sirk of Hoagland, Ind; sisters, Catherine "Kate" (Clarence) Hamrick of Willshire, Ohio, and Marilynn Louise (Gerry) Simons of Decatur, Ind; seven grandchildren, Jim (Ashley) Sirk, Nick (fiance, Crystal Noble) Sirk, Derek (Ashley) Morris, Rachel (Dave) Krueckeberg, Josh (Katherine) Sirk, Brittany (Tim) Grote, and Emily (Ryan) Gehring; 16 great-grandchildren, Jacob Dunning, Olivia Dunning, Jase Sirk, Ellie Sirk, Abigayle Sirk, Luke Sirk, Aiden Sirk, Joselyn Kaufmann, Theodore Morris, Hayden Krueckeberg, Kayana Krueckeberg, Avery Krueckeberg, Emma Sirk, Eleanor Sirk, Elizabeth Sirk, and Benson Grote; and one great-great-grandchild, Mason Krueckeberg. She was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Bruce Alan Sirk, in 1955; and two brothers, Robert Lee Luginbill and Vilas Eugene Luginbill. Service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home - Decatur, with visitation one hour prior. Chaplain John Follett officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial in Mt. Etna Cemetery, Huntington, Ind. on December 9, 2017.²
