He was an electrician prior to his illness, having been employed, by the Lillybrook Coal Co. for 20 years. He was a member of Local Union 6003, United Mine Workers of America. He is survived by his wife, Eva Poff Underwood, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Craig, Poughkeepsie, N. Y., Cora, at home; two sons, William Lee, Coal City, and Robert Ray, at home; two grandchildren; four sisters, Miss Hazel Underwood, Miss Elizabeth Underwood, Mrs. Virginia Deck, all of Beckley, and Mrs. Vivian Springer Delaware, O; three half sisters Mrs. Stella Wilson, Middlesboro, Ky., Mrs. Pauline Kerr. Beaver; and Mrs. Mandy Edmonds, Baltimore, Md; three brothers, William J. Underwood, Mabscott; Jack and Paul, both of Lillybrook. The body will be taken from the Keyser Funeral Home to the residence at 4 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held Sunday.at 2 p.m., at the Lillybrook Community Church. Burial will be made in the Ellison Cemetery at Pipestem. Pallbearers will be Fred McKinney, Kermit Alley, Ralph Lilly Dorsil Vest, Cecil Bragg, and Roy Young. on July 19, 1957.¹

Jim Franklin in charge. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Bartusiak died in a local hospital at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after suffering a heart attack about an hour earlier at his home. Bartusiak was born March 7, 1908 (should be Mar 5, 1909), in Scranton, Pa., a son of the late Joseph and Katy Gurick Bartusiak. He was a member of the Christian Church and had been employed by the New River Coal Co. of Stanaford as a coal miner until two years ago. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Violet Poff Bartusiak; two sons, Frankie of Calloway Heights and George at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Hamm of Sterling, Ill., and Susan at home; and one grandson. on August 16, 1961.⁴

She is preceded in death by husband, Edward Poff; son, Joseph Poff; and siblings, Eugene Auxier, Harrison Auxier, Evangeline Jackson, Haxel Valentine, Irvin Auxier, Floyd Auxier, Virginia Wilburn, Gladys Lee, Edtar Cutlip, Willie Auxier, Francis Cogar, Lawrence Halbut, and Nellie Horton. She is survived by son, Allen Poff (Sandra); grandson, Edward Allen Poff II; granddaughter, Rachelle Legg; and great-grandchildren; Aden Legg, Fiona Legg, Jordan Chambers, and Cate Jarosz, sister, Blanch Massie. Preston was born on July 25, 1935 in Princeton to the late Albert Crowe and Letha Hall Crowe Farley. Preston was a member of the Men's Sunday School in Princeton and owned Preston's Barber Shop on Mercer Street and Athens Road for many years. He was a United States Air Force Veteran in Upper Heyford, England, where he met his wife, Anne. Preston loved to golf, play cards at the Princeton Elks Club and was a true blue Mountaineer fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Lee Crowe, brother, Perry Crowe and sister, Maxine Smith. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Anne of the home; One son, Steve and wife Cindy Crowe of Princeton; One daughter, Melissa Ward and special friend Brian Bailey of Princeton; Three grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin) Crowe Handley and their children, Decklan, Titus and Taya; Dr. Tyler (Courtney) Crowe and their daughter, Harper, and Sean Ward; One sister, Anna Mae Crowe of Princeton several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the 4th floor of Princeton Community Hospital for the care given to Preston. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Preston Crowe will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road with Pastors Eugene Hazelwood and Eric Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery on Halls Ridge Road Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Hall, Washington, D.C; Joe Hall, Beaver; Charlie Hall, Beckley; Frank Hall, Beckley; Carlos Hall, Calloway Heights; Kenneth Hall, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin; Mrs. W. C. Canterbury, Beaver; Mrs. Fred Price, Spray, North Carolina; Mrs. C. R. Tincher, Mabscott; Myrtle Hall, Smyra, Delaware; and Mrs. Aiden Gunnoe, Beaver; one sister, Mrs. Hugh Keaton of Hinton, 24 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren also survive. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Beaver, and the Women's Missionary Society,and had lived in Beaver for the past 33 years. She was born on July 26, 1867, at Floyd County, Virginia, the daughter of the late George and Angeline Whitlock Via. on February 22, 1943.⁵

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tracy Shannon, Charlie Anderson, Paris Richards, Lee Lively, Randall Wooddell and Charles Rollyson. on September 27, 1977.⁶
