He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton and a member of the Bluefield Elks Lodge and a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Survivors include his wife, Elsa Bugner Chris Stewart; and two sisters, Mrs. William C. Cook of Milton and Mrs. Dora Heyer of Morristown, N. J. Burial will be in Monte Vista Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pat West, Joe Wheby, Kenneth Conner, Raymond Waters and T. J. Donahue. on September 15, 1964.9

Pallbearers will be Don Tabor, Gene Gray, Mick Massie, Ted Fleshman, Harold Hoback and Ernest Hoback. on January 21, 1980.7

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dobbins was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Hoback. Survivors include two sons, Robert Dobbins and his wife Sherri of Newport News, Va. and Joseph Dobbins of Bluefield; two sisters, Colleen Dishman and her husband Bill of Atlanta, Ga. and Frankie Dickenson of Greensboro, N.C; one brother, Danny Hoback of Greensboro, N.C; two grandchildren, Dylan Dobbins of San Francisco, Calif. and Jessi Dobbins of Newport News, Va; and one great grandchild, Colin Dobbins also of San Francisco. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Pastor Jim Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to attend the graveside services are asked to meet at the funeral home by 2:00. Mercer Funeral Home & Crematory in Bluefield is serving the Dobbins family.
