Kent Edward Crouch Kent Edward Crouch, 58, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 20th, 2022. Survived by Michael Crouch (son), Joyce Hudson (mother), and Don Crouch (father). Kent graduated from Cave Spring High School in the year of 1981 while working with the grounds crew at Hidden Valley Country Club; a job that he later turned into a career. Kent took up his first Golf Course Superintendent role at Countryside Golf Course and promptly returned to his long-time course, Hunting Hills Country Club, in the same role. The last course Kent called home was Ashley Plantation Country Club where he held the role of Assistant Superintendent. There was only one thing Kent held closer than his love of caring for golf courses and that was his love for his son, Michael. Kent would regularly regale his friends and co-workers with stories about Michael's baseball games; the most inconsequential games were never inconsequential in his eyes. Kent helped coach Michael's baseball teams through his time in recreational baseball and never missed a high school game when Michael played for the same school Kent graduated from. Kent loved watching Braves games with his son and was an avid fan who finally got to see that World Series banner that had eluded his team for more than two decades. Kent was supremely proud of his son and spent his last year passing on what he could to him as they worked side by side at Ashley Plantation. Kent always told Michael when he was younger that this was last line of work he should consider, but it was evident that he appreciated nothing more than to have the chance to teach who he held dearest what he knew best.2 He was born on June 1, 1963 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.3 He married Nicole Katherine Layman on June 24, 1989 at Franklin Co., Virginia.4 Kent Edward Crouch and Nicole Katherine Layman were divorced on October 21, 1996 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.5 Kent Edward Crouch died on May 20, 2022 at Virginia at age 58.2
