     Webster Boude Bennett was buried at Bennett Cemetery, Jumping Branch, Summers Co., West Virginia.^7,2,3 He Webster Boude Bennett, 71, of Beaver, a former resident of the Hinton area, died Thursday at 6 a.m. in a Beckley Hospital after a long illness. Born in Summers County, March 10, 1892, he was a son of the late William H.P. and Mary Young Bennett. He had lived all his life in Raleigh and Summers counties. Bennett had lived at Beaver for six years. Survivors include five brothers, Frank, Lake and Gus, all of the Madams Creek area, James of Beaver and Jeff Bennett of Princeton; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Lowe of Beaver, Mrs. John Bower of Jumping Branch and Mrs. Earl Waddell of St.Albans; and one grandson. Burial will be in the family cemetery on Madams Creek. Members of the Beaver Veterans of Foreign Wars will serve as pallbearers, and the Hinton National Guard Unit will be in charge of graveside rites.² He was born on March 10, 1892 at Summers Co., West Virginia.^{8,7,2,3,4,5,6} He married Orpha Tabitha Davis, daughter of Evan Horton Davis and Laura E.      Hilda Mae Bennett was buried at Bennett Cemetery, Jumping Branch, Summers Co., West Virginia.^1,2,4 She was born on August 19, 1925 at Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^1,2,4 As of February 1, 1947,her married name was Smith.⁷ She married Harold Smith on February 1, 1947 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.^8,7,4 Hilda Mae Bennett died on September 11, 1948 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 23.^1,8,2,4 She Funeral rites for Mrs. Hilda Mae Smith, 23 wife of Harold Smith, of Madams Creek, were conducted this afternoon. Burial followed in the Bennett cemetery at Madams Creek. Mrs. Smith died at 3:15 o clock Saturday afternoon of complications following childbirth in a Beckley hospital. Born in Raleigh county August 19, 1925, she had spent most of her life in Summers county, and for the past five years had resided in Hinton. She was a member of the First Baptist church here. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her father, Boude Bennett of Madams Creek, and an infant son, Donald Harold Smith. on September 13, 1948.⁴

     Harold Smith was buried at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Franklin Co., Ohio.⁵ He was born on May 18, 1925 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^2,3,4 He married Hilda Mae Bennett, daughter of Webster Boude Bennett and Orpha Tabitha Davis, on February 1, 1947 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.^1,2,6 Harold Smith died on May 25, 2016 at Ohio at age 91.³

     James Henry Glass was buried at Hilltop Cemetery, Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.^1,4 He was born on June 4, 1863 at Staunton, Augusta Co., Virginia; His death certificate has a birth date of Jun 4, 1862.^1,2,3,4 He married Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" Lawrence, daughter of Hosannah Byron "Hosea" Lawrence and Nancy Ann Iddings, on December 22, 1886 at Summers Co., West Virginia.^1,2 James Henry Glass died on February 1, 1934 at Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at age 70.^1,3,4 He It is with much regret tbat we chronicle the death of J. Henry Glass, of Hinton, who died in Huntington hospital, at 4 o'clock, Thursday morning, Feb. 1, 1934, after a lingering illness of a complication of ailments, aged 71 years. Mr. Glass was native of Staunton, Va., but came to Hinton in his youth where be accepted a position with the C. & O. R'y Co. He was, for many years, a conductor, and was noted for bis faithfulness to the interests of the railway company. He had resided in Hinton for 65 years and during that time had witnessed many improvements in the material welfare of the community. He was a member of the First Baptist church and Men's Bible class of that church. Personally, Mr. Glass was kindhearted and most likeable man. He was good to his family and friends and, his personality was congenial and sincere. His departure from this life leaves many who will miss him for what be was, a good man and citizen without sham or hypocrisy. He is survived by two sons, Sam Glass and Frank Glass, both of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. D. W. Frey and Mrs. H. W. Bird, also of Hinton. Three sisters, Mrs. S. A. Wimmer, of Hinton; Mrs. Mollie Sturgeon, of Dallas, Texas; Mrs. A. T. Hartley, of Santiago, California, and one brother, T. N. Glass, of Spokane, Washington, also survive as do a number of grandchildren. The interment was in Hill Top cemetery. on February 8, 1934.⁴

     Samuel H. B. "Sam" Glass was buried at Hilltop Cemetery, Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.^7,4,5 He married Mable McCauley.⁸ Samuel H. B. "Sam" Glass was born on January 1, 1888 at Summers Co., West Virginia.^1,2,3,7,4,5 He and Mable McCauley were divorced before April 5, 1930.⁹ Samuel H. B. "Sam" Glass died on December 28, 1934 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia, at age 46.^7,4,5 He Sam B. Glass, aged 47 years, died Friday morning, Dec. 28, 1934, at 11:30 o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. D. W. Fry, of Cross street, following a nine weeks illness. His passing was due to a stroke of paralysis which Mr. Glass suffered at the inception of his fatal illness. For several years, however, he had been in a bad state of health. Mr. Glass was born January 1, 1888, was a son of the late J. Henry Glass and wife, long well known residents of Hinton. He resided in Hinton the major part of his life, and besides his loved ones, leaves a great many friends. Mr. Glass was a member of the First Baptist church. For a number of years he had been engaged in the plumbing business here. Mr. Glass is survived by two sisters, Mrs. D. W. Fry and Mrs. H. W. Bird; also a brother, H. F. Glass, all of this city. Burial was made in Hill Top cemetery. on January 3, 1935.⁴

     Charles Newton Glass was buried at Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois.⁷ He was born on April 15, 1890 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia; His draft card and death record have a birth date of Apr 19, 1890.^1,6,3,2,5 He married Ruth Almeda Arlington on April 30, 1910 at Adair Co., Missouri.^3,4,5 Charles Newton Glass died on December 9, 1918 at Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, at age 28.^3,5 He Charles N. Glass, 28 years old, died at his home, 2218 Lind street, this morning at 3 o'clock from pneumonia, after an illness of ten days, says Tuesday issue of the Quincy (ill) Journal. Mr. Glass was born in Hinton, W.Va., April 19, 1890, and came to Quincy four years ago. He was a machinist and was in the employ of the Electric Wheel Works. He was married to Miss Ruth Arlington, of Dawson, Okla., April 30, 1910, and besides his wife, he is survived by two childrens Charles, Jr., aged 5 years, and Lucille, aged 3 years; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Glass, and two brothers and two sisters, all of Hinton; one of the brothers is now with the American forces in France. His parents arrived at Quincy Sunday morning and were with their son at the time of his death. Mr. Glass was a member of the Baptist church. on December 9, 1918.⁵

     Jessie Marie Glass was buried at Hilltop Cemetery, Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.⁵ She was born on June 10, 1892 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia; Her death certificate has a birth date of Apr 28, 1892.^1,3,4 As of September 26, 1910,her married name was Harrison.⁶ She married Sheridan Towns Harrison on September 26, 1910 at Summers Co., West Virginia.^6,5,4 Jessie Marie Glass died on February 28, 1911 at Peru Township, Miami Co., Indiana, at age 18.⁴ She The remains of Mrs. Jessie Harrison, nee Glass, arrived here from Peru, Indiana, this morning and were removed to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Glass, in Avis. Members of the order of railroad conductors, machinists and Daughters of Pocahontas will attend the funeral in a body. Interment will be in Hill Top cemetery. The remains were accompanied here by the husband, S. T. Harrison, and his two brothers, James and Benjamin. Mrs. Harrison, while a resident of Hinton was a faithful member of First Baptist church and a devout Christian. She devoted much of her time to Sunday school work and took a deep interest in the little children. Her death came as a great shock to everyone in Hinton who knew her. Expressions of sympathy for the husband, parents, brothers and sisters and other relatives of the deceased, are heard on every hand. on March 2, 1911.⁵

She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Dewey; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Wiseman of Hampton, Va; a brother, F. H. Glass of Portsmouth, Va; a sister, Mrs. H. W. Bird of Hinton; and a grandchild. on May 29, 1964.⁸

     Dewey William Frye was buried at Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.^5,4 He was born on November 5, 1900 at Union, Monroe Co., West Virginia; His WWI Draft Registration card has a birth date of Dec 5, 1900 and his WWII card has Dec 5, 1902.^6,5,3,4 He married Lelia Elizabeth Glass, daughter of James Henry Glass and Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" Lawrence, on January 2, 1925 at Summers Co., West Virginia; Lelia and Dewey were both listed as divorced at the time of their marriage.^7,8 Dewey William Frye died on November 8, 1969 at Summers Co., West Virginia, at age 69.^2,5,4 He Dewey W. Frye, 69, of Hilldale, died at 2:58 a.m. Saturday in a Hinton hospital after a short illness. He was born Nov. 5, 1900, in Union, a son of the late William and Leona Raines Frye. He was a retired C&O Railway employe. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Patsy) Wiseman, Hampton, Va; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Cook, Flatwood, Ky., Mrs. Hallie Ellison, Hinton and Mrs. Clyde Davis of Florida; two brothers, Edward of Maryland, and Roy of Covington, Va., and one granddaughter. Burial will be in Restwood Memorial Estates. Pallbearers will be George Lewis Dillon Jr., Bulis Pettry, Henry Dillon, Woody Hicks, Ernest Cox and Aubrey Hill. on November 9, 1969.⁵

     Frank H. Glass was buried at Saint Peter's Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, Richland Co., South Carolina.⁴ His Social Security Number was 224-36-9277.⁵ He married Drucy Janet Hensley.² Frank H. Glass was born on November 26, 1922 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.^4,2,6,5 He died on January 19, 1973 at Atlanta, Fulton Co., Georgia, at age 50.^4,2,7,6 He Frank H. Glass, 50, of 212 Royal Towers Rd. died Friday in Atlanta, Ga., after a sudden illness. Born in Hinton, W. Va., he was a son of the late Henry F. and Kathryn Carson Glass. He was formerly associated with Continental Can Co. and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Janet Glass; and two daughters, Misses Drucy Ann and Kitty Lynn Glass. on January 20, 1973.²

     Lawrence Gwinn Glass was buried at Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth, Virginia.^2,4 He and Bernice Genevieve Cantor were divorced.⁴ Lawrence Gwinn Glass was born on March 21, 1924 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.^3,4 He married Bernice Genevieve Cantor on November 3, 1962 at Camden Co., North Carolina.⁵ Lawrence Gwinn Glass died on February 13, 1972 at Portsmouth, Virginia, at age 47.⁴

     Horatio William Bird was buried at Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.⁶ He married Mae Goff.⁷ Horatio William Bird was born on January 22, 1890 at Little Rock, Pulaski Co., Arkansas; His WWI draft card has his place of birth as Rio de Janiero, Brazil and some Census records have Texas.^3,7,5,8 He married Della Margaret Glass, daughter of James Henry Glass and Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" Lawrence, on September 4, 1917 at Hamilton Co., Ohio.^1,9,5 Horatio William Bird died on September 16, 1972 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia, at age 82.^4,7 He Funeral arrangements are incomplete for H. W. Bird, 507 Temple St., Hinton, who died at 6:45 p.m. Saturday in a Hinton hospital after a short illness. Born in Texas, Bird was a retired Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad machinist and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mae Goff Bird; two sons, James, Arlington, Tex., and Jack, Charleston and a daughter, Mrs. Ann Law, Arlington, Va. on September 17, 1972.⁷
