Mr. Williams was born in Danville, Va. on March 18, 1937, a son of the late J.I. "Jack" Williams and Irene Johnson Williams. Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army and worked as a Concrete Contractor. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. On August 26, 1967, he married, Diane Rogers Williams, who died on May 15, 2004. Survivors include a daughter, Melanie W. Ebbert (Gene); a son, Ashley Williams (Hollie); a sister, Hope W. Davis (Hank); a grandson, Ryan Ebbert; two nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 2 p.m.at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel conducted by the Rev. Avery Dalton and the Rev. Carl E. Burger. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, March 31, 2017,from 7 until 8:30p.m. at the funeral home and at the residence at other times. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Keeling Vol. Fire Dept. on March 30, 2017.³
