She was the daughter of the late Calvin and Sarah Furrow of Bent Mountain and is also preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Manning; brother, Lawrence Furrow; and three sisters, Ethel Cochran, Grace McGhee, and Bess Brookfield. She is survived by her husband, Woody Lancaster; children, Marvin Manning and wife Glenna, Lynchburg, Larry Manning and wife Debbie, El Dorado Hills, Calif., Brian Manning, Roanoke, Lora Troutt and special friend Dianna Lombardo, Roanoke; stepson, Gill Lancaster; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchidren. Thanks to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for the care that was shown to our loved one during her illness. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. on January 29, 2007.2

Pallbearers were Ronnie Doyle, Mike Doyle, Shelburn Meeks, Bobby Wells, Kelly Custer, Chester Moore, Ray Smith, Stan Chaney and Leon Cooper. Lancaster was born in Franklin County on July 6, 1924, to Thomas L. Lancaster and Carrie Walters Lancaster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mazie Wimmer Lancaster; his second wife, Elsie Manning Lancaster; sister, Ivy Grant; and brothers, Roy Dean, Herman, Lee and Taz Lancaster. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church for more than 40 years. He retired from DuPont, where he worked as a mechanic for more than 35 years. Lancaster was a musician and played six instruments in his 30 years as a member of the Spiritualairs Quartet. Surviving are a son, Gil Stevens Lancaster of Collinsville; and a step-grandchild. on June 13, 2010.1

He said the auto ran off the right side of the road went down an embankment and crashed against a tree. He said Mrs Bell died of a fractured skull. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Mary Ann Bell, Mrs. Carolyn Sue Bell, at home; a son, Douglas A. Bell, at home; her mother, Mrs. Clara Rhudy Matkins, Copper Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Basil Jones Bell, W.Va., Mrs. Mabel Mull, Asheboro N.C. on December 20, 1969.2

A son of Harry C. Deisher, employee of the stale auditor's office, and Lorene Williams Deisher, the young man was born at Clifton Forge, Va., Aug. 8, 1916. The family moved to Charleston when "Sonny," as he was known to family and friends, was a baby. He graduated from Charleston high school in February, 1936. He formerly was a member of Boy Scouts' troop No. 38, and was a bugler of city-wide reputation. Surviving him are his parents and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Deisher Smith. Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist Episcopal church, South, at 2:30 o'clock Thursday, under charge of Rev. B. P. Taylor, a former pastor. Burial will he in Sunset Memorial park. Pallbearers will be Denvil Taylor, Paul Williamson, Denzil Gainer, Arthur Thomas, Floyd Tillson and J. W. Corder, Jr. on July 13, 1938.2

He was a retired Norfolk and Western Railway employee with 30 years service. He was a member of Bluefield lodge 85, A.F. and A.M., serving as tiler, and a member of Bluefield Chapter 20, R.A.M. Lodge of Perfection, a Knight Templar, and a Shriner. He was also a member of Trinity Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Rumburg Wickham, three sons, Reginald and Noel Wickham, Jr., of Bluefield, and A. Scott Wickham, of Winter Park, Fla; four sisters. Mrs. R. D. Kirkpatrick and Adeline Wickham of Richmond, Va., Mrs. Ed Bower and Mrs. R. L. Barbour of Salem, Va; eight grand-children. Masons will be in charge of graveside rites, with an escort furnished by Knights Templar. on May 1, 1961.5
