Born in Charleston, W.Va., to the late Lewis and Edna Schoolcraft Affolter on May 3, 1939, David had lived on the Peninsula for the last 31 years. David was an inspiration to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was employed by Weinstein Management Company, Inc., as a carpenter up to the time of his illness. David leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth; one son, Thomas David Affolter of Hampton; one grandson, Mark Adam Affolter of Hampton; six sisters, Barbara A. and her husband, Robb Moss, of Hiawassee, Ga., Phyllis J. and her husband, James 'Mac' Henderson, of Sarasota, Fla., Rosalie and her husband, Bill Kyle, and Joyce and her husband, Gary Lewis, both of Charleston, W.Va., Cookie Ison and her husband, Ronnie, of Circleville, Ohio, and Clara Faye Barton of Charleston, W.Va; three brothers, George R. and his wife, Rose Ann Affolter of Charleston W.Va., Paul and his wife, Betty Affolter, of Amanda, Ohio, and Robert C. and his wife, Vicky Affolter, of Murfreesboro, Tenn; several nieces and nephews. Very special thanks to a sister-in-law, Carol Lewis Seeley, for her dedicated help and care during David's illness. A life celebration service for David will be held at noon Monday, Aug. 23, at the Full Gospel Worship Center. The Rev. David Hagee, Pastor David Carroll, Pastor Charles Hughes and Pastor Carl Mercale will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. on August 21, 2004.3

Affolter, 64, of Amanda, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at his residence. He was born June 22, 1944 in Charleston, West Virginia, and was the son of the late Lewis Edward and Edna Lee (Schoolcraft) Affolter. Paul worked as an operator for Thomson Electronics in Circleville for 26 years. He is survived by his wife Betty (Harper) Affolter; daughter, Denise (Tim) Stevenson of Canal Winchester; and a son, Andrew Affolter of Westerville; two grandchildren, Travis and Sara Stevenson; two brothers, George (Rose Ann) Affolter of West Virginia and Robert (Vicki) Affolter of Tennessee; five sisters, Phyllis (Mac) Henderson of Florida, Barbara (Robb) Moss of Georgia, Rose (Bill) Kyle, Lillian (Ron) Ison and Joyce Lewis all of West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. A grave side service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas Cemetery in Charleston, West Virginia. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. on August 2, 2008.3

Lewis of Charleston went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Thursday, June 12, 2008, at his residence. Gary was born Aug. 2, 1941, in Kanawha County to the late Thomas B. and Freda A. Lewis. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, twin of Gary Lewis II. He leaves behind the love of his life, Joyce; beloved daughter, Robin A. Lewis of Charleston and son, Gary W. Lewis II of Charleston; precious grandchildren, Jessica Lynette Lewis and Gary W. Lewis III, both of Charleston; sisters, Ann Affolter of Hampton, Va., Carol Sealey and husband, Mike, of Hampton, Va., and Linda Mace and husband, Richard, of Kenbridge, Va.
