She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Hamilton, Dennis Hamilton and Johnny Hamilton. She was married to her high school sweet heart for 56 years. She touched a lot of lives not only by being a great friend, wonderful mother and grandmother, but also through teaching school in the greater Ashland Independent school system for over 20 years. Jo Ann is survived by her adoring husband Eric Brandenburg Sr; two daughters, Gina L. Haraway, Lisa Brandenburg; two sons, Eric Brandenburg Jr, Dr. John Brandenburg; one sister, Joyce Carnes; three brothers, Ronnie Hamilton, Ricky Hamilton, Terry Hamilton; five grandchildren, Taylor Brandenburg, Chase Brandenburg, Cody James Brandenburg, Chloe Brandenburg, Mia Brandenburg as well as her extended family and friends.3 She was born on February 27, 1948 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky.2,3 As of July 5, 1966,her married name was Brandenburg.1 She married Eric Jackson Brandenburg Sr., son of Charles Jackson "Charlie" Brandenburg and Jeanne Farnese Cornelia Smith, on July 5, 1966 at Griffith, Clark Co., Indiana.1,3 Jo Ann Hamilton died on July 22, 2022 at Ashland, Boyd Co., Kentucky, at age 74.3
