Morris & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, March 18, 2003, 2 p.m in the chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Hendricks officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. on March 17, 2003.4

William Howard joined the Navy in May 1942 and served in the Pacific Campaign during WWII. He was discharged in May 1949. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Minetta Charlton Dickerson. They were wed on the 10th day of April, 1948. William Howard attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI) in Blacksburg, earning his BS in Chemical Engineering. He retired from Lubrizol Inc. in April of 1991. William Howard was an active member at the First Christian Church of Baytown and was elected Elder Emeritus in 1998. William Howard was a board member for YMCA and enjoyed giving his time and energy to the Optimist Club and Kiwanis. He is survived by: Brother Elmer Holdway and wife Phyllis of Roanoke, Virginia. His children are Floyd Dickerson and wife Sharron of the Woodlands, Texas, Nancy Marshall and husband John of Mountain Home, Idaho, Nathan Dickerson and wife Kathleen of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and John Dickerson and wife Gina of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren are Sarah Hervert, John Hervert, Scott Dickerson, Geoffrey Dickerson, Alexandra Dickerson, Victor Dickerson, Kathryn Dickerson, Austin Dickerson, Colin Dickerson, Katie and Kelly Dickerson. Thelma was a charter member of the Women of the Moose and was Senior Regent for many years. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leon R. "Shotgun" Ferguson.
