     Harry Tucker Haskins Jr. Harry Tucker "Tuck" Haskins, Jr. of Roanoke passed away after a long illness and went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2024. Harry was born in Clifton Forge, VA on October 8, 1936 and was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Tucker Haskins and Mary Ann Kennedy; brother, William Eugene Haskins; sisters, Harriet H. Smith and Marian H. Raleigh; and late wife, Darlene Terry Haskins. Harry is survived by his loving wife, Judith Barrett Haskins; daughters and husbands, Melanie and Scott Leweke of Blue Ridge, VA and Kathryn and Kevin Glasgow of Georgia; and Nadine Kelley of Roanoke, mother of his children. Also surviving are stepchildren, Will Abernethy of Roanoke, Nathan and Julie Abernethy of Roanoke, Whitney Miller of Dillwyn, and Steve Wilson and Ken Wilson. Surviving grandchildren are Greg and Sam Glasgow, Emma and Mary Leweke, and step-grandchildren Kaylee and Rachel Goin, Elijah, Nora and Isaac Abernethy. Harry had a distinguished career in law enforcement and public service working with the Virginia State Police, the National Guard, the National Forest Service, the City of Salem as Chief of Police and on Salem City Council. Graveside services to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.2 He was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.2,4 He was born on October 8, 1936 at Clifton Forge, Alleghany Co., Virginia.1,2,3 He married Lillian Darlene Terry, daughter of George Spencer Terry and Myrtle Estelle Atkinson, on August 17, 1979 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2,5,6 Harry Tucker Haskins Jr. died on September 1, 2024 at Virginia at age 87.2

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Darlene Terry Wilson; three sons, Kenneth E. Wilson, Jr., Glen Burnie, Md; Bern Allen Wilson. Eric Steven Wilson, both of Newport News; sisters, Mrs. Roy (Ruby) Nelson, Salem; Mrs. Ray Cook, Florida: three grandchildren. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. on May 30, 1978.1

     Alberta Elizabeth Hartwell A. Elizabeth Hartwell Schaeffer 91 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 21, 2016. Her husband , William Schaeffer, parents, Mammie and Charles Hartwell, three brothers, Gilbert, Dewey, and Benjamin Hartwell preceded her. Elizabeth grew up in Hardy Virginia and graduated from Franklin County High School. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Roanoke. Elizabeth had a full and interesting life, from working to hobbies, her love of traveling and the outdoors. A very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and person who was dearly loved and will be missed. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Skyles and husband Steve, Mary Monroe and husband Bill, and John Schaeffer; grandchildren, Kathy Markham and husband Chris, Sarah Tyler and husband John, Michael Monroe and wife, Deanna; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Betsy Davis; special friend, Sandy Lane. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Interment will follow in the Nineveh Church Cemetery in Hardy, Virginia.2 She was buried at Nineveh Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 7060 Hardy Road, Franklin Co., Virginia.2,3 She was born on March 13, 1925 at Franklin Co., Virginia.3,4 As of August 22, 1998,her married name was Terry.1 She married Bobby Lee Terry, son of George Spencer Terry and Myrtle Estelle Atkinson, on August 22, 1998 at Roanoke, Virginia.1 Alberta Elizabeth Hartwell died on December 21, 2016 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 91.2,3
