She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lloyd Elkins Jr; brothers, Martin, Lewis, Basil, Arnold, Ralph and Leslie; and sisters, Kathleen, Arvilla, and Evelyn. Anna was a retired employee of Fayette County Board of Education after 14 years as a custodian working at Fayetteville Middle School and Oak Hill High School. Surviving: her son, Roger Lee Elkins Sr. and wife Shirley of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Roger Jr. and wife Patti of Oak Hill, Leah of Iola, Kan., Kimberlee of Fayetteville, and Charles of North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Colton, Kaylyn, Matthew, Shandale, and Alyssa. Anna was a gift of life donor to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg. It was her wish that no services be held. on December 4, 2013.3

Nugen, 74, of Oak Hill, formerly of Bluefield, died Wednesday in an Oak Hill hospital following a short illness. He was a retired employee of Union Carbide Metals Corporation at Alloy. He was a 50-year-member of the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F.&A.M. and a member of Wyndham Chapter No. 45 R.A.M. of Welch. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Georgiana Nugen; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Green of Fayetteville and Mrs. Sara Webb of Oak Hill; a brother, Archie Nugen of Oak Hill; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Baines and Mrs. Mae Hatfield, of Bluefield; Mrs. Ruby Wellman of Hico and Mrs. Verda T. Tredway of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Dodd-Payne Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Rev. Shirley Donnelly and Rev. Howard Querry officiating. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Masonic graveside rites. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 10 p.m. today in Fayetteville. on February 17, 1972.5

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Simms Nugen; a son, Leonard Nugen of Salem, Ore; two daughters, Mrs. Faye Schoolcraft of Fayetteville, Route I, and Mrs. Martha Lilly of Whitewater, Wis; two brothers, Sidney T. and Archie Nugen, both of Oak Hill; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Wellman of Hico, Mrs. Laura Baines and Mrs. Mae Hatfield, both of Bluefield, and Mrs. Verda Treadway of Fayetteville, Route 2; and ll grandchildren. The body will remain at the funeral home. on February 7, 1963.5
