Military rites will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans of the Roanoke Valley. on March 19, 2009.⁴

He is survived by his wife, Carol Vest Jackson; two sons, Luke Jackson and wife Tara and Josh Jackson and wife Ashley, all of Virginia Beach; four granddaughters Emma, Kylie, Ava and Daisy; brother, David Jackson and wife Terrie of Kinston, N.C; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wanda and James B. Vest of Floyd, Va. Burial to follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. on June 9, 2007.³

Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday. on November 5, 1990.⁴
