     Robert Ballard "Bob" Sigmon Robert B. Sigmon, 85, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017. He was born in King, West Virginia, McDowell County, to Mawyer and Lilly Sigmon. Robert graduated from Welch High School in 1950. He was an assistant manager at Belk Lindsey in Punta Gorda from 1958 to 1960 and was general manager of Hopper-Crews Ford, then Johnnie Crews Ford, and finally a sales representative for Don Gasgarth Charlotte County Ford from 1960 until his retirement. Bob enjoyed his retirement and worked at several of the golf courses in the area at the bag drop and as a Ranger. He loved spending time with family and friends. He also loved his merlot wine and Manhattans. His pride and joy and faithful companion was his dog, Cody. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna K. Sigmon; stepson, Terry Dixon and wife, Stacy; stepson, Randy Dixon and girlfriend, Sherry; two grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Dixon; children from previous marriages, Steven Sigmon, Stephanie Sigmon, Kathleen Sigmon and Jill Burkhart; and nieces and nephew, Sandra Saunders, Sue Austin and Billy Sigmon. Barbara Jean Sigmon Atwell, 74, of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. She was born in Kimball, W.Va., on October 8, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Mawyer Willard and Lillie Docie Cundiff Sigmon. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur Sigmon and Josephine Notchie Sigmon; and another brother, Lynwood Sigmon. Affectionately known as Barbara Jean, she dearly loved her family and gave of herself in many different ways. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sherrie Atwell and Misty Blankenship, both of Narrows; four grandchildren, Darryl Blankenship Jr. and wife, Chenaye, of Narrows, Kristen Blankenship, of Pembroke, Jordan Atwell and Jacob Blankenship, also of Narrows; four great-grandchildren, Gavyn and Zoey Blankenship, Cameron Mullins, and Ryan Hamlin; a brother, Robert (Bob) Sigmon and wife, Donna, of Port Charlotte, Fla; a sister-in-law, Gloria Gail Sigmon, of Burke, Va; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. on December 27, 2012.⁴

Jo is the beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin of the Notchie (Ciento)-Sigmon family. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Sigmon, and his parents Mawyer and Lilly Sigmon of Narrows, Va; her parents, Philomeno and Carmella, and siblings Joseph, John, and Rocco Notchie of Elkridge; Patsy Notchie of Hillsville, Va; Mary Cosentino of Long Island, N.Y; Makina Murray of Baltimore, Md., and Polly Dials of Man, and grandson, Seth Sigmon of Spring Hill, Fla., and Chapmanville. Jo was a 1945 graduate of the St. Mary's School of Nursing. She spent her life devoted to her family and to the care and healing of others. During her career she served as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, Cabell Huntington Hospital and Steven's Clinic Hospital in Welch. She also served as Nursing Director at the Man Appalachian Community Health Foundation Clinic and the Logan County Health Department. She was a past member of the WV State Nurses Association, the WV Public Health Association, the WV School Nurses Association and the National Red Cross Association where she was a past Chairperson of the WV Chapter. Jo was a teacher in the Practical Nursing program at the Logan Vocational Center. She was on the Holland Apartment Condo Association Board. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Logan where she served on the Altar Society, Parish Council and as a Sacristan. Jo is survived by son Bill and Debbie Sigmon, grandchildren Shade of Grayson, Ky., Shayne Sigmon and Sherri Pennington of Huntington, and Stacy Grimsley and great-grandson Anthony of Spring Hill, Fla; daughter Sue Austin of Wesley Chapel, Fla., grandson Jeff and Jen Austin and great-grandchildren Max and Miles of Tampa, Fla., grandson Jay and Katie Austin and great-grandchildren Logan, Lilyana and Leilani of Spring Hill, Fla., and granddaughter Ashleigh and Daniel Shuford and great-granddaughter Phoenix of Asheville, N.C; and daughter Sandra and Bill Saunders of Huntington, grandson Bill and Stephanie Saunders of Martinsburg, granddaughter Amy and Kurt Geveke and great-grandchildren Noah and Carter of Huntington, granddaughter Elizabeth Saunders and Mike Morgan of Huntington, and granddaughter Susie Saunders and Craig Seaman of Pittsburg, Pa.. Jo is survived by cousin Katie Albanese and family of Odenton, Md; sister Makina's family from Baltimore, Md; brother Larry Notchie and family from Bronx, N.Y; brother Fred and Edith Notchie and family from Logan and Hialeah Fla; Al Cosentino and family from Long Island N.Y; Bob and Donna Sigmon and family of Port Charlotte, Fla., Helen Notchie and family of Hillsville, Va., Gail Sigmon and family of Burke, Va., and St. Albans and Jean Atwell and family of Narrows, Va. Mom's wonderful gifts, love, smile, generosity, humor and kindness will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. The family sincerely appreciates the wonderful care of the medical staff and pastoral care services at St. Mary's Medical Center, Cabell Huntington Hospital and Home Health Services.      Arthur Bela "Bill" Sigmon was buried at East Carter County Memory Gardens, 1299 East Main Street, Grayson, Carter Co., Kentucky.³ He Arthur Bela "Bill" Sigmon, 71, of Olive Hill, KY, formerly of Logan, WV, went to be with his Lord Tuesday March 8, 2022, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. Bill was born October 1, 1950, in Welch, W.V. to the late Arthur Frederick and Josephine Notchie Sigmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Seth Aaron Sigmon, and a sister, Sandra Saunders. Bill graduated from Logan High School and attended Marshall University, Huntington, WV. Bill retired from surface mining as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the UMWA. Bill enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, motorcycling, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved dogs. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Debra Dale Harwood Sigmon; two sons, Shade Sigmon and Shayne Sigmon both of Olive Hill; a grandson, Anthony Grimsley of Covington, KY; a sister, Sue Austin of Ashville, NC; two brother in-laws, Bill Saunders of Huntington, WV and Doug Harwood of Logan, WV; and a host of extended family and friends who all mourn his passing.
