(Lois Ree) Smith of South Bend; a son, Gordon M. of South Bend, four grandchildren, and two brothers, Otto and Paul R., both of South Bend. A daughter, Julia Elaine, preceded him in death. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Cenkush had retired in 1963, after 35 years with the former Studebaker Corp. on June 22, 1979.5

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Ree Smith in 1992; a grandson, Kris Lee Smith II in 1999; and by a brother, Gordon Cenkush. She is survived by a son, Kris Lee (Kathi) Smith of South Bend; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) Carver of Noblesville, Ind., Stephen, James and Jenni Smith, all of South Bend, and Thomas and Robert Smith of Westerville, Ohio; and by four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Kendra-Aryn Carver of Noblesville, and Moriah Faith Smith of South Bend. Ree loved to read and knit, and spend the rest of her time enjoying her family and many friends. A memorial graveside service will be held at at Riverview Cemetery. on April 3, 2003.8

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace Short; three daughters, Mrs. Delores Flosenzier, of Plymouth; Cleo and Cleora, at home; his father, Thomas Short, of Knox; one sister, Mrs. Leota Hendrick, of Muskegon, Mich; one brother, Joseph Short, of Knox; and a grandson, Guy Russell Flosenzier, of Plymouth. Burial will be at Round Lake cemetery, one mile east of Rye, Ind. on August 19, 1938.6

Donald Ray Eichorst was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery (also known as New Oak Hill Cemetery), 1300 Chester Street, Plymouth, Marshall Co., Indiana.3,9 He Donald Ray Eichorst died peacefully in the presence of loving family at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka, Indiana, on Thursday, September 19, 2019. He was born in Lakeville, Indiana, on April 1, 1930, to George and Genevieve (Kollar) Eichorst. He was married to Betty Jane Gibson on May 13, 1950 until her passing in 1981. He was then married Cynthia Hall in 1982 until she passed away in 1994. He married Darlene Donna Anderson in 1995, she survives. Surviving are his two sons with his wife Betty: John (Barbi) Eichorst and Jerry Eichorst, both of Lakeville; three step-children, Teddie (Dale) Hill of Manteno, Illinois, Robert (Marilyn) Anderson of Three Rivers, Michigan, and Bruce (Pamela) Anderson of Hillsboro, Oregon; brother, Richard Eichorst of Osceola, Indiana; grandchildren, Tami Eichorst, Nicholas Eichorst, Tommy Eichorst, and Andrew Eichorst; step-grandchildren, Amy (Hill) VanSwol, James Scott Hill, Jennifer (Anderson) Walker, Karen (Anderson) Bacon, and Brent Anderson; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends survive. Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings: Clarence, Vernon, Georgia (Connor), and Eldon. Don loved people and was noted for his hearty laugh. A long-time member of Plymouth Wesleyan Church in Plymouth, Indiana, he loved the Lord and family. He especially enjoyed Southern Gospel music. He loved traveling, especially on trains. He worked in three dairies in South Bend, Indiana, for many years. In 1982 he started at AM General in Mishawaka, Indiana, and retired in 1994. He also drove milk tankers for Zeiger Brothers and Don Penn, which he dearly enjoyed. St. Joseph St., Apt. 909, died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday in his home. He was a retired route salesman for South Bend Vending Co. Born May 8, 1921, in Lakeville, he was a lifetime area resident. On Jan. 21, 1942, in South Bend, he married Melva M. Loughridge, who survives. Also surviving are a son, James of Mishawaka; two grandchildren; a sister, Georgia O'Conner of North Liberty; and three brothers, Clarence of South Bend, Richard of Osceola, and Donald of Nappanee. A son, Robert, died in 1972. Mr. Eichorst was an Army veteran of World War II. on May 24, 1987.12

Georgia was preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah Clark on September 17, 1994, and Connie Sue O'Connor on October 18, 1953; and two brothers, Eldon and Vernon Eichorst. Mrs. O'Connor attended Lakeville schools and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, North Liberty. She retired from Wells Aluminum in North Liberty and worked part-time at Liberty Lanes, North Liberty, and the John Glenn School Corporation, Walkerton. Graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. on September 23, 2005.4

He was 79 years old. He was born August 21, 1930 in North Liberty, a son of Zell & Helen (Finch) O'Connor, and remained a lifelong resident. Harold worked for many years as a meat cutter-butcher for Wilcox's Supermarket, and taught many people how to cut meat throughout the years. He retired from John Glenn School Corp., where he worked as a Custodian at North Liberty Elementary School. On January 12, 1952 in South Bend, Harold was united in marriage to Georgia Elaine Eichorst. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage until her passing on September 21, 2005. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Connie Sue O'Connor on October 18, 1953, and Deborah Clark, September 17, 1994, along with a sister, Enid Beaudoin, and four brothers, Lawrence, Lester, Donald, and William O'Connor. Harold is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Dennis) Dolph of Walkerton, three sons, Ronald (Carol) O'Connor of Las Cruces, NM, Jack (Linda) O'Connor of North Liberty, and Larry (Linda) O'Connor of Sharon Spirit, KS, and eight grandchildren, Ryan O'Connor, Heather Wills, Karyl (Gonzalo) Ruiz, Jeffrey Clark, Lindsay (Scott) Namestnik, Jonathon Dolph, Kyle O'Connor, and Tyler O'Connor. In addition, four sisters, Doris (Dennis) Groves, Dorothy Arnett, Norma Solmos all of North Liberty, and Judy (Michael) Granning of Fort Wayne, and a brother, Dale "Verland" O'Connor of South Bend all survive him as well. Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post 365, in North Liberty. He was an avid fisherman, and always enjoyed having family and friends at his home for a fish fry. He was a lifelong Cub's fan, and enjoyed bowling for many years. He loved watching "The Price is Right", "Wheel of Fortune", and "Jeopardy". Graveside services with military honors will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. on May 4, 2010.4
