     Birda Alverta Bond Mrs. Birda Alverta Bond Poff, age 68, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born in Carroll County Virginia on October 15, 1951 to the late Jmes and Della Guynn. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are a daughter, Patricia Guynn; a son Wiley Guynn; grandchildren, Laken and Timothy Brannock, Adrienne Williams, Brandon Guynn, Austin Collins, Lindsey Graveley and Dominik Guynn; eight great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law Hassell Arlond, Lewis Riley and Birt and Betty Bond. In addition to her parents Mrs. Poff was preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas Poff; son, Joseph Guynn; sisters, Lila Barr, Nellie Haynes and Freda Guynn.      Donald Guyer Wilcox Mr. Donald Guyer Wilcox, 84 of Mount Airy passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Wilcox was born on July 31, 1937, in Surry County to the late Carlie and Thelma Ester Guyer Wilcox. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He worked for Stroh's Brewery in Winston-Salem for 30 years and was well known for his joking and picking with others. Donald loved his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Left to cherish his memoires are his wife of 65 years, Shelby Poff Wilcox; four daughters and sons-in-law, Robin Wilcox Leonard, Tracy Wilcox Hall and husband Doug, Heather Wilcox Payne and husband David, Lisa Wilcox Simpson; one son and daughter in-law, Steven Guyer Wilcox and wife Jeanette; three grandchildren, Cody Simpson and wife Candance, Austin Payne, Ashley Payne; step-grandchildren, Amy Slate and husband David; Jamie Cooke and wife Angie; three great-grandchildren, Amelia Simpson, Wyatt Simpson, Riley Payne; four step great-grandchildren, Jacob Slate and wife Chelsea, Mackenzie Cooke, Emma Cooke, Annie P. He was born December 6, 1959, in Forsyth County, to the late Jack Simpson and the late Betty Lou Stanley Simpson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Sherry Hudson.
