Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2010, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dusty Etter officiating. Interment will follow in the Dudley Cemetery in Fagg, Va. The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Friday at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg, Va. on January 26, 2010.1

He was predeceased by mother, Evelyn Sowers Walters; father, Doy Daniel Walters; maternal grandparents, Harley and Bessie Howery Sowers; and paternal grandparents, Daniel and Alma Vest Walters. Charles is survived by sister, Coriene Walters Dooley and husband, Fredric; brother, Jackie Calvin "Jack" Walters and wife, Teresa; nephew, Jason Walters and wife, Katie, and their children, Owen and Evelyn "Evie" Walters; and niece, Ashley Walters and her children, Alivea Greenway, twins, Aiden and Asher Underwood. His "family" and buddies at Carrington Place, especially his very special buddy, Leah Paibanas, who could always make a bad day happy and sunny. The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to the entire staff at Carrington Place who were special to him and always made sure he had trips out, was properly shaved and dressed and at his meal times had something he especially liked, including a favorite, watermelon. Your love, compassion, and excellent professional care of him under all circumstances will always be remembered and appreciated. We wish to thank those from Good Samaritan Hospice and Southern Care Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Stuart Kelly, Pastor of Trinity Church of the Brethren. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 128, Daleville, Va. 24083. Pastor Kelly helped Charles with his decision to give his life for Christ. Shortly after that decision, it was a very happy time for him when his buddy Leah, transported Charles to his church on a Sunday. on November 10, 2010.1
