He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Reba A. Clower, and two sisters. He was a faithful member of Abundant Life Fellowship of Pilot. He was a veteran of World War II and he retired from Burlington Industries. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Geraldine Clower, Dianne and Wendell Light; one son and daughter-in-law, Harless Clower, Jr. and Lola; four grandchildren, Michelle Lyons and husband, Steve, Brian Light and fiance, Teresa Burton, Nathan Clower, Amanda Light; one great-grandchild, Zachary; one sister, Mattie Graham; a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Claudia and the staff at New River Valley Hospice for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Horne Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Reverends Layne Board, Leon Alley and Larry Meadors. Interment will follow in Huffville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Floyd County Rescue Squad and New River Valley Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by Horne Funeral Service in Christiansburg. on November 16, 2000.2

She was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Pilot, and a long time employee of Roses Department Store in Christiansburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harless and Reba Clower. She is survived by her sister, Dianne (Wendell) Light; her brother, Harless (Lola) Clower; nieces, Michelle (Steve) Lyons, and Amanda (Steve) Haynes; nephews, Brian (Teresa) Light, and Nathan Clower; and greatnieces and nephews, Zach, Brittany, Rylee, Kendall, Robert, and Brandon also survive. The family wishes to thank Skyline Nursing and Rehab for the caring of Geraldine for the past seven years. Thanks also to Carilion New River Hospice. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 24, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Horne Funeral Home. She was a 1993 graduate of Floyd County High School, and was employed at BB&T Bank in Christiansburg. She was known for her beautiful smile and her concern for others. She is survived by her son, Zachary Noah Light; her daughters, Kendall Shay Haynes and Keaton Mae Haynes; and their father, Stephen Haynes. She is also survived by her parents, Wendell and Dianne Light; her brother and his wife, Brian and Teresa Light; and a special niece, Brittany Light. Also surviving are her in-laws, Richard and Jackie Haynes, Scott and Maeve Haynes, Stacy and Drew Viers; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m.on Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 3795 Surface Road, Riner, Va., with Pastor James Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at the Iddings Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2014,from 4until 7 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. The family expresses their thanks to Duke Cancer Center and Dr. Robert Rotche and staff at Blue Ridge Cancer Center for their care and concern these past two years. on October 25, 2014.2

Funeral services were conducted from the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Donald Clay, the Reverend Donald Flory and Mr. Paul Reed officiating. Melissa Lola Martin died on March 23, 1998 at Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 89.4,2 She NAFF, Melissa Lola Martin, 89, of Pilot, died Monday, March 23, 1998, in the Columbia Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born January 8, 1909 to the late Giles and Esta Martin. She was a lifelong member of the Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, where she served as organist until her illness. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister; her husband of 54 years, Rev. Archie Naff; three sons, Rev. J. T. Naff, Harold Naff, and Bill Naff; three daughters, Dianne Trump, Ruth Zeigler, and Melba Bryant. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. Preston Naff of Roanoke, Rev. and Mrs.. Arnold Naff, Rev. and Mrs.. Elbert Naff, and Paul Naff, all of Pilot; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Harry Moore of Roanoke, Helen Altizer of Riner, and Lola and Harless Clower of Pilot; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Bettie Martin of Charlotte, N.C; daughters-in-law, Brenda Naff of Pilot, and Helen Breeding of Christiansburg; a son-in-law, Elmer Zeigler of Salem; 34 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren, conducted by Pastor Don Peters. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Friends may call at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home after noon Wednesday, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements are being handled by Richardson-Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. on March 25, 1998.2
