He was a rifleman and truck driver in the 104th Infantry. He was honorably discharged Jan. 20, 1946. He worked at the steel mills in Lomita, Calif., and in 1971 moved back to Wynona in where he worked as a pumper for Howell Oil until he retired. Surviving are two grandchildren, one great-grandson and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, several brothers and sisters and one great-granddaughter. on October 4, 2006.²
