Proud grandmother of seven Grandchildren: Peyton, Brielle, Kenna, Kenzie, Aviana, Mila and Benjamin. Susan was the ultimate neighborhood mom with a yard full of children on most summer days. She never missed a game or presentation of her kids. She especially liked playing games with her many grandchildren. In short she was a bright light in the lives of all people who met her. Always laughing and being positive.

1,4,5,9 He Robert Walker Collins, 71, of Callaway was fatally injured today while cutting timber near the home of Eldridge Bell of Copper Hill vicinity. Dr. F. C. Bedsaul said that Collins was struck on the back of the head by a falling limb on a tree adjoining the one he was working on. Collins died shortly after he was hit, the coroner said. Doctor Bedsaul attributed death to a fractured skull and a broken neck. Collins is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Ellen Collins; two daughters, Mrs. C. N. Young, Roanoke; Mrs. Grady Lynch, Buchanan; a son, Arvil Collins, Callaway; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Hall, Pulaski; two brothers, J. P. Collins, Homer Collins, Roanoke; 12 grandchildren. Burial in Cooper Cemetery. on February 26, 1953.
