Inc. in Roanoke, Va., died Monday afternoon in a Bluefield hospital after a brief illness. He resided at 2701 Mt. View Ave., Bluefield. A graduate of Fork Union Military Academy and the University of Richmond, Poff was associated for many years with Peerless Coals, Inc., until his retirement in 1968. He was a deacon and former disbursing treasurer of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a World War I veteran and a 50-year member of Riley Vest Post No. 9 of the American Legion in Bluefield. He had served as post commander Born in Pocahontas, Va., he was a son of the late Perry W. and Nellie Mullins Poff. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Virginia Bell Poff; two sisters, Mrs. R. E. Maxwell and Mrs. William C. Kidd of Bluefield; three nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bluefield with Rev. Richard Rouquie officiating. Burial will follow in Monte Vista Park Cemetery. on October 6, 1970.2

Mathens, Mrs. Roy Snyder, Mrs. Woodrow Hazelwood all of Princeton; Mrs. Clarence Troy, of Bluefield, and the Misses Virginia and May Poff, at home. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. J. W. Jennings, of Pilot, Va; Mrs. O. E. Light, of Danville, Mrs. W. A. Epper, of Scarbro; Mrs. H. B. Tincher, of Fayetteville; B. P. Poff, of Princeton, and Asa Poff, of Norfolk, Va. on July 19, 1939.6
