Phyllis is preceded in death by parents, James E. Brumfield and Eva Dudley Brumfield; Billy N. Akers, husband of 42 years, and Lloyd D. Hosfeld, husband of 21 years; and brothers Ralph Brumfield, Melvin Brumfield, and Dave Brumfield. Phyllis retired as Office Manager at Nationwide Insurance and was very active in her church. Her life was one of family and service, always putting others first, often bringing comfort to the grieving and ill with her love, compassion and a bowl of macaroni salad and banana pudding. Phyllis has handled medical issues over recent years with courage and dignity. We, her family are so grateful for the love and support shown by Hermitage Roanoke (both staff and residents), Good Samaritan Hospice, and our family and friends.
