James Ralph Poff Jr. James "Ralph" Poff, 81, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. He was born on May 20, 1942, to the late Ralph and Hettie Poff of Roanoke. Ralph is survived by his wife, Connie L. Poff; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Lynda Poff and Jonathon and Erin Poff; grandchildren, Olivia and Jackson Poff; his sister, Charlotte Poff; sister and her husband, Lucy and Ray Drain; brother and his wife, Marvin and Martha Poff; brother and his wife, Norman and Lani Poff; and brother-in-law, Horace Light. Ralph worked in the Hydro Department for Appalachian Power for many years. He was an active member of the Kazim and served in many capacities, most recently the director's staff. Ralph had a spirit of generosity and service to his family and community which he was able to fulfill through his family and Kazim family. Ralph was an adoring grandfather and took pride in making Olivia and Jackson laugh. They brought out his sense of humor and sneaky wit that would spur laughter throughout the room. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.5 He was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.5 He was born on May 20, 1942 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.2,4,5 He married Connie Lou Light on January 22, 1965 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.1,2 James Ralph Poff Jr. died on April 10, 2024 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 81.5

Alton was a long time member of Topeco Church of the Brethren. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice of Salem for their caring support over the past few months. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Topeco Church of the Brethren, officiated by the Rev. Mike Varner, and grandson/Youth Pastor Ricky Vest Jr. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Topeco Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice of Salem, 1312 West Main Street, Salem, VA 24153. on October 20, 2012.4
