     Mildred Leona Meyers YAKIMA - Mildred L. "Mid" Ross-McFather (88) of Zillah passed away in Yakima on Tuesday July 12, 2011. She was born in Scottsbluff, NE on December 8, 1922 to William and Ethel (Clary) Meyers. Mildred moved to the Yakima Valley in the mid 1930's and worked as a waitress at the Bungalow and the Branding Iron in Toppenish. She later worked at Stokeley's Warehouse until retiring. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, music and dancing. Her family will remember her as a fabulous cook. She is survived by two sons, Ted Ross and his son, Gary of Zillah, Kenneth Ross and children, Shelly, Tracy, Kevin, Lori, Leona, Keenan and Millie of Bangor ME; two daughters, Dixie Ross and children, Aimee and Tony and Debbie Disney and her sons, Tyler and Travis both of Zillah; one sister, Betty Brueckner of Phoenix, AZ; numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 1st husband "Bump" Ross; 2nd husband "Red" McFather; 4 sons, Billy, Jerry, Robert, and Thomas; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. In 1987 she married Jack Sullivan, who preceded her in death in 1996. She held various jobs around the Bremerton area and in the 1980s she owned her own state-licensed childcare center. Margaret loved children and had special relationships with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and various nieces and nephews. Margaret enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting and sketching. She particularly enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren and making knit hats for the newborns at Harrison Medical Center. Margaret is survived by her children John Brueckner Sloan of Bremerton and Carma Foley (Guy) of Seabeck, stepdaughter Valerie Morgan of Silverdale (Lauren, Riley, Rafe) and stepsons Joe (Lucas and Joe) of Lake Symington and Jim of Seattle. Grandchildren Vincent (Christin) Gerbasi of Chicago, IL, Cara (Gareth) Cole of Silverdale, Marci (Jared Taylor) Foley of Seabeck and greatgrandchildren Evan, Callie and Gauge. Sisters Betty of Phoenix, AZ and Mildred of Eastern Washington. A special thank you to Rene Foley and Hospice of Kitsap County for the help and guidance to Carma Foley while caring for her Mother in accordance with her wishes. He had been shot at least four in the back, chest and arms. Investigators said robbery apparently was the motive for the killing.
