In addition to her parents, Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord Acord; sisters, Victoria Hughes, Cassie Pruett and Mary Vaught; and brothers, Timothy Pittman and Willie Pittman. Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Emma Jean Schmidt and husband, Roger, of Melbourne; granddaughter, Pamela Kacerosky and husband, John, of Orlando, Fla; grandson, George Schmidt and wife, Merry, of Athens, Ala; great-grandson, Jacob Schmidt of Athens; and sisters, Dollie Graybeal of Midway and Louella Hill of Norfolk, Va. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. on September 22, 2007.⁴

Born October 3, 1940 in Midway, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mary Pittman Vaught. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren. She retired from Raleigh County Federal Credit Union where she worked as a teller/loan officer. She also work for many years at the family business Pee Wee’s Market in Crab Orchard and at Tilsons IGA in Coal City. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 14 years, Charles E. Swift; two daughters, Sherry Ann and Anna Lou Swift and brother, Ronald Vaught. Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Lester Harold Vaught and wife Mary Ellen of Beckley; four nephews; son, Brian Swift and wife Janie who was her caregiver for the past 16 years; three grandchildren, Kristen Swift of Boise Idaho, Shawn and Cody Swift of Hickory, NC. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Tilden Catharine "Tilda" Terry was born on February 11, 1901 at Pemberton, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.³ She died on April 1, 1917 at Crab Orchard, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 16.² She Miss Catharine Terry died at the home of her father, B. L. Terry, of near Crab Orchard, on Sunday last from tuberculosis. Miss Terry was about 20 years of age, a fine christian character and her death is a great blow to her family, she being the only daughter at home. Mrs T. E. Willis, of East Beckley is a sister.
Calfee & Son, of this city, had charge of the burial, which event took place late Monday near the home of the deceased. on April 6, 1917.²

Burial will follow in Iaeger Memorial Cemetery at Roderfield. He was a retired miner, veteran of World War I and a member of Mill Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include six sons, Alfred Rose of Roderfield, Lincoln Rose of Cincinnati, Ohio, Elmer Rose of Belleville, Mich., Roy Rose of Big Sandy, Ray Rose of Marianne, and Everett Rose of Waukegan, Ill; three daughters, Miss Evelyn Rose of the home; Mrs. Herbert (Juanita) Mullins and Mrs. Bobby (Mary) Vinson of Waukegan; 35 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Rose of Big Sandy and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Smith of Montcalm, and Mrs. Ethel Lowe of Gilbert. One son, Joe Clifford Rose, preceded him in death in July 1969. on April 27, 1970.⁵

Rose of Mount Carmel; three granddaughters, Valerie Andrew of Amelia, Angela Ernst of Mount Washington and Michelle McLellan of Jupiter, Fla; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Rose of Roderfield, W.Va., and Everett Rose of Bluefield, Va; and two sisters, Evelyn Farley of Pineville, W.Va., and Juanita Mullins of Bluefield, W.Va. Interment will follow at the Vine Street Hill Cemetery in Clifton. on December 9, 1998.⁷
