The family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to the Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery and the Kroontje Health Care Center Staff Members for their loving care and attention over the past few months. There will be no visitation or public services due to Covid-19, only a private graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. on November 9, 2020.5

He was one of the last coal miners in Montgomery County. He is survived by his children, Sandra Richardson, and husband, Willie, John D. Slusser, Jr. and wife, Cathy, Carol Viers, and husband, Michael, Michael Slusser, and wife, Carol Sue, Ronnie Slusser, and friend, Jennifer, Penny Ratcliff, and husband, Phillip, and Kenny Slusser, sisters, Trudy Albert and Maggie Harris, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. on February 1, 2017.5

She is survived by her loving daughter, Kathy Slusser Drummond and husband, John, of Christiansburg, Va; her granddaughter, Stacey Ely (who loved and admired her Memmie so much) and husband, Brian, of Abingdon, Va; grandson, Ross Drummond and wife, Elsha, and their children, William, Lucy and Jack, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and grandson, William Drummond and fiancée, Alicain Carlson, of Apex, N.C. She is also survived by her loyal companion, her dog, Baxter. He stayed faithfully by her side for six years, providing her joy and unconditional love. Many thanks to the Blacksburg and Christiansburg Volunteer Rescue Squads and the nursing staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital for their loving care. In addition, the family would like to express thanks to Dr. Joseph Cacioppo and Medi Home Health and Hospice for their dedication to ensuring she had the best care possible and tending to her needs so selflessly. (Carole) Wheeler, of Chester, Virginia; two nieces, Betsy and Angela; great niece, Julie Grace; special friends, Steve (Theresa) Parham, of Springfield, Ohio, Beth Adair, Heather Barnhart, Ann Hall; the entire Boldman family of Urbana; and Jerry's special caregivers, Katie and Judith. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry E. Wheeler; and his stepfather, Frank Hunt. Jerry had a beautiful smile and will be missed by all who knew him. Burial will follow the service at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. on October 9, 2008.3

She was born in Montgomery County Virginia on December 3, 1936, to the late Robert Henry and Violet Dove Bradley and was also preceded in death by her husband, Pascal Erno Slusser, Sr; two sons, Roger Lee Slusser and Robert Slusser; one sister Debra Lynn Bradley; three brothers, Robert W. Bradley, Johnny K. Bradley, and Richard C. Bradley. She was a former employee of Kroger, Wades Supermarket, and A & P. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Pascal E. "Bud" Jr., and Margaret Slusser, of Christiansburg, Gary D. Slusser and fiance, Deborah R. Phelps, of Blacksburg; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Remona B. Vaught of Blacksburg, Lena B. and Norman Naill of Abilene, Texas, Joyce B. and Gary Hollandsworth of Riner, Patsy B. and Alvin Williams of Blacksburg, Bonnie B. and Wilkie Cox of Christiansburg; two sisters-in-law, Iris Bradley of Radford and Edith Bradley of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Tonya Slusser, Joshua Lee Slusser, Jamie Edward Slusser. The family would like to thank Dr. John White, Dr. Evelyn Parrish, and all of the second floor nurses at Montgomery Regional Hospital for their wonderful care of Mary during her illness. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Claude Dove and the Rev. Leslie Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Tuesday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg. on June 20, 2006.1
