He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Willard and Minnie Holland, brother, Myron Holland, sister, Beatrice and brother-in-law, Wilson Angle, and brother-in-law, Sam Webb. He is survived by his wife, Mildred M. Holland of 54 years; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Melvin Taylor, Jr. of Roanoke; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Cathy Holland of Roanoke, Neil and Leigh Holland of Callaway; granddaughters and husband, Brianne and Brian Clemmer, Kelly S. Taylor and Alicia A. Holland; grandsons, Noah and Caleb Holland; loving brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Nancy Holland; three loving sisters and brothers-in-law, Viola and Dewey Harmon, Alice and Walter Campbell, and Myrtle Webb; several nieces and nephews. He served his country by working in the shipyard before going into the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was proud of his plumbing business of 23 years, and was retired from Roanoke City as a Plumbing and Mechanical Inspector. Burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The Holland family wishes to thank Dr. Phillip Shiner and staff, Carilion Hospice, and Carilion Cancer Center for all of their care. on February 5, 2002.3

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sam R. Webb; and several siblings. Surviving family include her children and their spouses, Tony A. Webb, Kathy and Kal Pezeshcan, and Todd and Dana Webb; grandchildren, Ryan, Shana and husband, Bryan, Katherine, Matthew and John; two greatgranddaughters; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Walter Campbell, and Viola and Dewey Harmon; brother and sisters-in-law, Ray and Nancy Holland, and Mildred Holland, brother-in-law, Randolph Webb; sister-in-law, Mrs. Louise Underwood; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Myrtle was born on January 15, 1926, and grew up in Callaway, Va. She was a loving mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and sister. In addition to her own children, she cared for many children in her home throughout the years. Myrtle was a long time member of Red Hill Church of the Brethren. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on May 20, 2011.4
