Hutton, on October 29, 1936 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2,4 Joseph Douglas "Joe" Henson died on July 29, 2000 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 89.^3,2 He HENSON, Joseph D. (Joe), 89, of Elliston, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2000 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home. He was born in 1911 in Elliston where he spent his life. Mr. Henson ran a general mercantile; selling everything from food staples to furniture, he also farmed over 200 acres, owned a tomato canning factory, was a television technician, and carried the mail to Ironto, Lafayette, and Elliston. Mr. Henson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia P. Henson; son, Paul D. Henson and wife Sandra; daughter, Nancee Jo Henson; grandson, P. Douglas Henson II and wife Andrea. Friends may call on Monday, July 31, 2000 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park on Tuesday, August 1, 2000 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth B.
