She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Hurley Edward Skiles; her daughter, Bertha Lee Skiles; three brothers, Robert Martin, Alfred Martin and Charles Martin; one sister, Edith Martin Ross; and grandson, James E. McGahey. She was a devoted mother and grandmother; truly a proverbs woman who always put the needs of her family before her personal desires. She loved to help and serve others and chose professions that reflected that; she was a hairdresser and home health care provider. Violette is survived by five children; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and present husband, E.A. McGahey of Powell, Oklahoma. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Eric Dennis will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Pontotoc Cemetery, Pontotoc, Oklahoma. Casket bearers: Mike Glenn, Randy Ingle, Christopher Skiles, Clayton Bridenstine, Alfred Martin Jr., Charles Albert Martin, Bill Martin, Albert (Bud) Martin, Bobby Martin and James Martin.
