She also served as Education Department Chair, and Coordinator for Academic Support in the Academic Advising Center. In 1996, she was honored with the Keene State College Distinguished Teacher Award. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mize; sister, Garnet Ballard; brother-in-law, William C. Ballard, and brother, Moody Donohoe. Mrs. Ballard was a former employee of Keaton Cleaners and Laundry Service in Hinton and also the Hinton Radio Shack. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hinton and the Fidelis Sunday School Class at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Ballard and a brother, Moody Donohoe.
