     Carol Sue Tabor Carol Sue Tabor Allen, 65, of Marie, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington following a short illness. Born June 6, 1946 in Hinton she was the daughter of the late Vaden Ryan Tabor Sr. and Ernestine Meadows Tabor. After high school Sue worked for the U.S. Marine Corps in Washington D.C. After returning to Summers County she worked at the old Hinton Hospital then worked as a cook for the Summers County Board of Education at Talcott School, Summers Co. High School and retiring at the Summers Co. Middle School with 25 years of service. Following retirement she work at the Summers Nursing and Rehab. Center. Sue was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church at Ballengee. Survivors include: Her husband of 45 years Michael Allen; Four brothers: Vaden Ryan "Pete" Tabor of Ballengee, Warren Tabor (Louise) of Talcott, Dean Tabor (Anita), Gene Tabor (Cindy), Michael Tabor (Carla), all of Marie. Three sisters: Judy King (Dennis) of Roanoke, Va., Jeanett Hutchens of Beckley; Lynn Tabor of Atlanta, Ga. mother-in-law Dua (Marie) Allen of Marie; 17 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 4 2011 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church at Ballengee with Revs. Sam Haught and Sam Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Ballengee. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton and at the church one hour prior to services on Friday.      Iris Lee Cox Iris Lee Cox Fortner, 80, of Hilltop, WV died on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Hilltop Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hilltop, WV. Born May 22, 1940, at Sewell, WV she was the daughter of the late Alfred Shirley and Mildred Marie Cox Walker. She was a former cook for St. Andrew's Day Care Center and was a member of the First Assembly of God, Mount Hope. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Ray Poole; second husband, Charles Herbert Fortner; grandson, Brian Michael Poole; great granddaughter, Amber Dellinger; sister, Helen Parker; and brother, George Cox. Survivors include her husband in the Lord Ronald England; children, Loren B. Cox and wife, Anita, Michael R. Poole and wife, Kiersta , Cheryl A. Pittman and companion, Michael Moss, Dori L. Poole , Charles J. Poole and Vickie L. Cousens; sisters, Eunice Carol Totten and Diana Sue Walker; brother, Alfred "Pete" Cox; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Born Oct. 20, 1954, in Oak Hill, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Shirley and Mildred Marie Cox Walker. Helen was a former hairdresser and a home care provider, having owned Helen's Home Care. She was an active member of Mount Hope First Assembly of God, where she was president of Women's Ministries. A 1973 graduate of Fayetteville High School, she also graduated from the Beckley Beauty Academy. A brother, Shirley James Cox, preceded her in death. Helen is survived by a loving and devoted family which includes her husband, Jessie O. Parker; daughter, Tiffany Cottle and husband, James, of Sun; two sons, Jessie Parker Jr. and wife, Norma Kay, of Pliney and Jimmy Patrick Parker and wife, Lesie Nicole, of Ceredo; one brother, Alfred Houston "Pete" Cox and wife, Jo Ann, of Oak Hill; three sisters, Iris Cox Poole Fortner of Oak Hill, Diana Sue Cox Walker of Mount Hope and Eunice Carroll Totten of Sun; and eight grandchildren. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. on May 1, 2014.²

     Janet Leah Alley On Saturday, February 5th, 2011 our most loved Janet Leah Malay was called home by the Lord at the Bowers Hospice House following a long illness. Janet was 57 years of age. Born on July 18, 1953 at Layland, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Bragg Alley. To us her family, Janet was the most wonderful, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all of us. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Heather Wilfong of Beckley and John Malay of Fayetteville. She was the doting grandmother of Hanna Wilfong and Emma Hylton both of Lexington, Kentucky.
