She was 81 years old and was preceded in death by her mother and father, Shirley and Stella Elmore, and husband, George McFadden. He leaves behind his best friend of over 36 years, wife, Janet Helms of Akron; daughters, Michele (George) Schruefer of Red Lion, Pa., and Audra Baker of Akron; son, Ryan (Brianne) Helms of Wooster, Ohio; his "four pups", Justin and Jordan Baker, and Hayden and Gavin Schruefer; and his "sweet little squirrel", Madison Helms; sisters, Jean Sipe of Akron, and Joyce (Jack) Sotkousky of Mentor, along with both of their families; and many close and loving friends. on April 7, 2008.⁶

Born December 7, 1953, in Oak Hill, WV, the daughter of the late Jesse Jones and Loretta Ernestine Epperly Jones Legg and stepdaughter of the late Edward A. Legg. Dianna was a 1971 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill and a graduate of Marshall University. She was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church. She was a retired teacher having worked for the Fayette County Board of Education. Survivors include sons, Jason Carter of Tallahassee, FL and Shawn Carter of Orlando, FL; daughter, Tiffany Carter of Columbus, OH; sister, Penny Edwards of Oak Hill; brother, Tony Epperly of North Carolina; and a granddaughter, Mia Carter.
