She was a devoted Grandmal to eight grandchildren, a fun-loving GG to ten great- grandchildren and an adopted grandmother to countless others. Polly was a life-long member of Park Bible Baptist Church in Pennsville and dedicated her life to sharing the Gospel with the world. Family and friends meant everything to her and she was always willing to serve in anyway. She was a home for so many and her door was always open. Her legacy will always live on in the lives of those she’s graced. Polly will be deeply missed! Her family rejoices in the victory of Jesus, knowing that she’s finally Home. He was born on January 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Jack and Mary Jennings. Mr. Jennings was a member of Cunard Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School was a retired shop chairman with General Motors in Cleveland, OH until he retired in 1982. He was a US Army Staff sergeant veteran during the Korean Conflict. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, J. T. and his wife, Freda Jennings and Paul Jennings, Joe Alvin and Lawrence Jennings; sisters, Nancy and her husband Howard Ashcraft and Ellen and her husband George Rahall; brothers-in-law, Paul Hoffman, Edward and Rondie Surface; sister-in-law, Helen Surface; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Jessie Surface. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Beckley, where he went into business for himself. He married Ellen Jennings on October 8, 1950. He and Ellen moved to Huntington in the 1960's, where he once again operated his own business. Thereafter, he was employed at Nick's News and finally retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways. George was a committed Christian who attended Highlawn Baptist Church, where he was an active member and deacon. Later he became a faithful member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church until his death. George was known for his happy disposition and daily Bible reading. George was active in Democratic politics, being a strong supporter of his relative, U.S. Rep. Nick Joe Rahall (D-WV). The family will receive guests in the Parlor at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2007, to be followed by the funeral service in the Chapel of the church at 2 p.m. with Dr. Allen Reasons officiating. George will be interred at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, following the service. George's family extends their sincere appreciation and thanks to hospitalists Drs. In addition to her loving parents, Debi is survived by her wonderful husband of 20 years Gary Thaddeus Ganek of Ingleside, her 97 year old grandmother Mary Gertrude (Epperly) Jennings of Cunard, West Virginia, an older brother and sister in-law Charles Keith and Nancy Clare (Brown) Jennings of Indian Creek, Illinois and their children Keith David and Alison Clare, one older sister Regina Lee (Jennings) Small and her husband Lee and her children Jim Cline, Tracey Heather (Cline) Themer and Sarah Nicole Castillo all of Harvard, Illinois, two younger brothers Jackson Theodore Jennings III of Fox Lake Illinois and Joseph Lawrence Jennings and his children Kaylea Marie and Tyler Joseph all of Fox Lake, Illinois.
