     Dennis Ray Looney was buried at Huffman Memorial Park (also known as Chestnut Grove Church Cemetery), Craig Co., Virginia.3 He married Kathleen Raines.3 Dennis Ray Looney was born on May 14, 1937 at Craig Co., Virginia.3 He died on May 30, 2020 at Virginia at age 83.3 He Dennis "Denny" Ray Looney of Roanoke, Va. (formerly of New Castle, Va.) went home to be with Lord on Saturday, May 30, 2020. Denny was born on Sunday, March 14, 1937, to the late Ryan Gordan and Daisy Ellen Ruble Looney in the home in Craig County, Va. where he lived for most of his life. In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his brothers, Gray Looney and wife, Ruth B. Looney, Wayne R. Looney, and Gene G. "Squire" Looney. This long-time Craig County resident graduated from the New Castle High School as Valedictorian with the class of 1954 and later graduated from Virginia Tech with the class of 1958 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Denny spent his working life as the preparator of the Looney Store and farming family land. He always had a big garden and enjoyed his harvest all year long. He was a baptized believer and long-time member of the New Castle Christian Church where he served the Lord and church as a Deacon and secretary of the Men's Sunday School Class. He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 50 years, Kathleen Raines Looney; loving son, Denis "D.R." Looney Jr; sister-in-law, Mary Sue Looney; nephews, Dale Looney and Neil Looney; and special cousins, Bob Looney and wife, Jane, and Betsy Daniel and husband, Kermit. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Louise Raines Houchins; and brother-in-law, Ray G. Raines. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the New Castle Christian Church, 282 Salem Ave., New Castle, VA 24127, on Saturday, June 6, 2020, from 1 until 2 p.m. A funeral service with Pastor Cody Rader officiating will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. and internment directly following the service at Huffman Memorial Park. The family would like to thank his caregivers, doctors, nurses, aides, visitors, friends, and loved ones for their many hours of help, love, and visits. on June 3, 2020.3

     William Everett Tripp was born on May 10, 1928 at Craig Co., Virginia.1,2 He married Mary Ruth Mayo, daughter of Joseph Thomas Mayo and Freenia Bell "Frennie" Wright, on June 26, 1953 at Craig Co., Virginia.1,2 William Everett Tripp died on July 30, 2015 at Virginia at age 87.2 He William Everett Tripp, 87, of New Castle, Va., went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, July 30, 2015. Everett was one of 11 children born to Frank and Mary Tripp on May 10, 1928. He was a member of the United States Navy during World War II and then in the United States Naval Reserve for eight years. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Everett was an avid gardener and enjoyed his woodshop making everything from birdhouses to furniture. His main passion was his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Frank H. Eakin Jr; parents, Frank and Mary Tripp; brothers, Lester Tripp, Lloyd (Bud) Tripp, Norris Tripp, John Tripp, and Clayton Tripp; and one sister, Evelyn Caldwell. He left behind his wife of 62 years, Mary Ruth (Mayo) Tripp; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Frank Eakin, and Angela and Clyde Elmore; three grandchildren, Robert G. Eakin, Morgan (Elmore) and Jessie Mabes, William Matthew Elmore; two great-grandchildren, Robert Michael Eakin and Autumn Grace Mabes; two brothers, Norman and Helen Tripp, and Maxie and Bernie Tripp; two sisters, Pauline Blankenship, and Barbara and Roy Dudding; two sisters-in-law, Violet Tripp and Laura Mayo Price; and numerous nieces and nephews including special great-great-nephew and niece, Jackson and Zoe Breeden. The family will receive visitors at Lotz Funeral Home Salem on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. Memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in our chapel with Pastor W.E. Koger officiating. He owned and operated King's Lawn Maintenance Company for over 42 years and was a faithful member of Clearbrook Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In addition to his wife of 54 years, Kathleen, David will be missed and remembered by his sons, Dave and his wife, Mary, and Shannon; grandsons, Tanner, Tyler and Kyle; and sisters, Mary Ellen (Dewey), Ann, and Sandy (Donnie).
