Memorials may be made to either the New Castle Christian Church or the Craig County Rescue Squad. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday from Huffman Memorial Park, New Castle. The Rev. Ernie Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel. on August 6, 1996.3

     Benjamin Hughes Durvin Jr. Benjamin Hughes Durvin, Jr., age 76, of 1005 Cliftwood Circle Clifton Forge passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany. He was born March 27, 1936 in Clifton Forge Virginia, a son of the late Benjamin Hughes Durvin, Sr. and the late Sarah Elmore Durvin. He was a retired Vice-President and Trust officer for First National Bank with 31 years service. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Banking and the Dunsmore Business School. He was member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where he served as a Deacon and Treasurer, was a member of the church choir and also played the organ. He also served as chairman on several church committees. He was a member of the Clifton Forge Elks Lodge # 1065 and a life member of the University of Virginia Alumni Association. He is survived by two nephews, Earl Roles of Clifton Forge, and Jeff Roles and wife Katie of Tavares, Florida. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Mary D. Roles and Betty J. Durvin, a brother James A. Durvin, a half-brother Herbert Durvin and a nephew John Roles. A graveside memorial service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. from Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge with the Reverend Glenn Clements officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions take the form of donations to the American Heart Association c/o Joy Weeks 2212 Dressler Drive, Covington, Virginia 24426.
