Funeral services will be conducted at the Crab Orchard Brethren Church at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Okey Cox officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. W. Barton. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The body will be removed from the Webb and Neal Funeral Home to the residence at 3 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Harry and Raymond Milam, Red Grose, Willard Pritchard, Jimmy Akers, Calvin Cline, Posey Rhodes and Dale Eller. Collins, born Nov. 18, 1927, in Wyoming County, was the son of Okey Lewis Collins of Mabscott and the late Pearl Mullins Collins. He was an employe of Slab Fork Coal Co. for 17 years, and was a member of UMWA Local 6108. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada Fraley Collins of Crab Orchard; two sons, James Okey and Danny Joe, both at home; one daughter, Tammy Lynn, at home; five brothers, Billy, Harold, David, Jimmy and Clarence, all of Mabscott; and four sisters, Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Brewer of Soak Creek, Mrs. Daniel (Mary) Fraley of Pontiac, Mich., Mrs. Alvin (Ruth) Sturgill of Mabscot, and Mrs. Lacy (Bonny) Lilly of Beckley. on January 22, 1964.2

Born on August 7, 1941 at Stotesbury, he was the son of the late Oakley L. Collins and Pearl Mullins Collins. Mr. Collins was a disabled coal miner, and a member of the UMWA. Mr. Collins enjoyed working and being outdoors. He always kept busy doing odd jobs around the house, and took pride in keeping his car and truck clean. His thoughts were “If it is worth owning, it was worth keeping it maintained”. He loved spoiling his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Mr. Collins was a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by brothers, James A., Jimmy J., Clarence L., David W., and Hobert Collins; an infant brother and sister; and step brother, Bobby Mullins. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, V. Marie Hampton Collins; two daughters, Susan M. Deibler and husband Chris of Los Lunas, NM and Stephanie D. Hill and husband Jeffrey of Beckley; his grandsons, Dylon C. Deibler, James A. Deibler, Seth A. Hill, and Shea A. Hill; a brother, Harry R. Collins and wife Bonnie of Pontiac, Mich; four sisters, Dorothy Brewer and husband Harry of Beckley, Mary Fraley of Waterford, Mich., Ruth Sturgill and husband Alvin of Mabscott, and Bonnie Lilly and husband Lacy of Mabscott; step brothers, David Mullins and wife Ailene of Beckley and Pete Mullins and wife Eva of Beckley; his step mother, Dora Collins of Beckley; many nieces and nephews; and many life-long friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Rev. Phil Shields assisted by Calvin Fitzpatrick officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Prosperity. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m. today. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Dora is also survived by four grandchildren, Timothy Mullins and wife Lynn of Beckley, Eugene Mullins and wife April of Coal City, Sherry Lynn Clarke and husband John of Charleston and Angela Wolford of Beckley; sister Eva Hall of Roanoke, Va; seven great-Kimberly Showalter of Waynesburg, Ohio; Christopher Mullins of Beckley; Samantha Mullins of Coal City; Chandler David Wolford of Beckley; Sarah Elizabeth and Rachel Denise Clarke of Charleston and Tyler Underwood of Beckley; numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Dora loved working with her flowers and plants and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Mabscott Christian Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Rev. Harmon Davis officiating. Burial will be private at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may gather with the family Wednesday from 12 until the time of the service. Friends and family will gather at the Sprague Freewill Baptist Church after the service for food and fellowship.      Dorothy Louise Collins Dorothy Louise Collins-Brewer 85 of Beckley passed away Wednesday September 23, 2015 following an extended illness. She was born November 18, 1929 in Boomer, WV to the late Oakley Louis Collins and Pearl Mae Farmer-Mullins-Collins. Mrs. Brewer was a homemaker and attended the House of Worship in Beckley. She enjoyed going to the mall, being with her family and friends, and going to the Raleigh County Commission on Aging Senior Center. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husband Harry James Brewer whom she married on June 22, 1949 in Sophia, Raleigh County, WV; and several brothers and sisters, including Mary Jane Collins-Fraley. Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Harry Bernard Brewer and wife Marion of Comfort, WV, one daughter Elaine Brewer-Lewis of Beckley, twelve grandchildren: Christina Gutierrez, Karina Martin, Bobbie Lee Lewis, Hannah Lewis, Mattie Lewis, Silas Lewis, Genna Lewis, Ashley Marie Carden, Ronnie Stewart, Debbie Hoag, Kimberly Houchins, and Sherry Bett; nine great grandchildren also survive. A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley with Rev. Mitch Alkire officiating. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
