He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Betsy Rose Whitham, of Fairbanks; sons Joseph, Daniel, Stanley and Levi Whitham, all of Fairbanks; daughters Joanne Whitham, of Fairbanks, and Linda (Tony) Whatley, of Seattle; brother David (Mary) Whitham, of Colorado; sisters Ruth (Marlyn), of Big Timber, Montana, and Mary (Harold), of Ohio; and grandchildren Jessie, Jenny, Lauren and Julia. The burial will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Birch Hill Cemetery. on June 12, 2015.8

He spent his boyhood in the beauty of northwestern Montana, trout fishing, hiking, camping and enjoying the great outdoors. He graduated from Libby High School in Libby, Mont. Mr. Whitham moved to Alaska in 1992. He was a welder and a member of the Ironworkers Union. Mr. Whitham enjoyed fishing, riding snowmobiles, cooking up delicious meals for friends and admiring the view of the snow-covered mountain ranges beyond Big Lake. His family wrote: "Quinn was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. Quinn never knew a stranger and easily made friends wherever he traveled. He delighted in the company of a close group of lifelong friends who, along with his family, will find it terribly difficult to fill the enormous void that now exists. Quinn enjoyed the companionship of many animals during his life, especially his dogs, Bo and Brittany. He was dearly loved, and his spirit will remain in our hearts forever." His brother, Glenn Whitham, preceded him in death. Mr. Whitham is survived by his mother and her husband, Jung and Joe Trontvet of Anchorage; sister and family, Linda, Tony, Lauren and Julia Whatley of Seattle; his brother's children, Jesse and Jenny Whitham of Seattle; and his father, William Whitham of Fairbanks. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, P.O. Box 240587, Anchorage 99524. Arrangements are with Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.

Beginning January 1994 until his death, he held a variety of budgeting and strategic planning positions for the City of Seattle. Glenn is survived by his two cherished children, Jesse and Jenny, both of Seattle. He is also survived by mother, Jung, of Anchorage; father, William, of Fairbanks; brother, Quinn, of Anchorage; sister, brother-in-law and nieces, Linda, Tony, Lauren and Julia Whatley, all of Seattle; fiancée, Edna Shim of Kent; grandmother, Sylvia Whitham of Big Timber, Montana and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Glenn learned at an early age to "look for the best in people" and lived his life promoting harmony and placing others before himself. His positive spirit spilled out into the lives of all those around him. In addition to dedicating his time to his children and nieces, Glenn was a loyal Mariners and Husky football fan! Beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend - you shall live in our hearts and memories forever! Memorial Services will be held Monday, September 30th at 1:30 p.m. at University Presbyterian Church, 4540 Fifteenth Avenue N.E., Seattle. The former Ruth Paul was born July 4, 1920, in Escanaba, daughter of the late Adolph Paul and Helena (Schmelter) Paul. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1938. She worked at Escanaba Paper Co. until moving from Escanaba to Iron Mountain to 1951. Ruth Hartline was the secretary and organist at Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. She was currently a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain and the Ladies Guild. Ruth was a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kingsford, where she played the organ for 35 years. She enjoyed music, sewing and reading. She married S.R. "Bud" Hartline, on May 30, 1948, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Ruth Hartline was survived by her husband, S.R. "Shutters" Hartline; two sons, Ralph Hartline of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Robert Hartline (Katie) of Edina, Minn; two daughters, Shirley (Ken) Schepler of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Margaret (Michael) Petrick of Kingsford; two sisters, Gertrude (Anthony) Collura of Brown Deer, Wis., and Irma (Richard) Johnson of Freeport, Ill; a brother, J.A. Paul of Swartz Creek, lower Michigan; six grandchildren, Daniel, Andrew, and Emily Schepler, George Cutchins, and Chelsie and Angela Hartline; three step-grandchildren, Stephanie (Mark) Martinucci, Stephen Petrick and Scion Petrick, and many nieces and nephews.
