Lisa was a member of the Kee Street United Methodist Church in Princeton where she was active in the nursery, the Kee Kids and Bible School. She was a lifelong resident of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Albert Long and John Ovale Pettrey; and one half sister, Melessa Doyle. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Rodney W. Bailey of Princeton; daughter, Ashley Dawn Bailey of the home; brothers, Frankie Long Jr. and wife, Crystal of Gaffney, S.C. and Matthew Long and wife, Teresa of Glenwood; paternal grandmother, Katherine Long of Bluefield; maternal grandmother, Katherine Pettrey of Princeton; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Carol Bailey of Princeton; brother-in-law, Roger Bailey Jr. and wife, Lisa L. of Princeton; sisters in law, Debbie Roberts and husband, Roland of Statesville, N.C., Tammy Witmer and husband, Sandy of Greencastle, Pa. and Michelle Bailey of Princeton; several nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery on the Eads Mill Road in Princeton. on April 10, 2001.3

Survivors include one son Warren Murphy and his companion Terry Earfrati of Princeton; two daughters, Melissa Smith and her husband Scott, with whom she made her home in Bluefield and April D. Murphy of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Chris Murphy, Erica Murphy, Keri Hinds, Roger Murphy, Brittany Murphy, Hanna Murphy and Alex Murphy; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Marie O'Donnell and her husband Bud of Montcalm.4 Her married name was Murphy.5 She married James Roscoe Murphy.3 Lillie Mae Thompson was born on April 20, 1950 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.4 She died on November 8, 2014 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 64.4

Born September 26, 1949 in Jenkinjones he was the son of the late Robert Murphy and Mary Brown Thomas. He was of the Baptist faith and had been a resident of Princeton since 1956, moving here from Ingleside. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Keri “Bug” Smith; brother, Roger Clappes; sister, Jewel Stauffer; and former wife, Lillie Murphy. Survivors include one son, Roger Warren Murphy of Princeton; two daughters, Melissa Smith and husband Scott of Bluefield, and April Murphy of Princeton; six grandchildren, Chris, Erica, Roger, Brittany, Alex, and Hannah Murphy; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Bailey and husband Bob of Ocala, FL, and Barbara Smith of Dublin, VA; three brothers, Jack Murphy and wife Brenda and George Clappes, all of Princeton, Wayne Clappes and wife Melanie of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Brown Family Cemetery in Hardy.2 He married Lillie Mae Thompson, daughter of Alvin Eugene Thompson and Eva Eunice Pack.3 James Roscoe Murphy was born on September 26, 1949 at Jenkinjones, McDowell Co., West Virginia.2 He died on March 19, 2019 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 69.2
