Born on July 14, 1948 at Cool Ridge, he was the son of the late Joe C. Lilly and Pemel Hutchens Lilly. Mr. Lilly was a disabled coal miner, and was a member of the UMWA. He had lived at Cool Ridge for most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Mary Basham Lilly at home; three sons, Barry Joe Lilly Jr. and his wife Laurie of Ghent, Patrick Lilly and his wife Rose of Ghent and Harold Tennant of Cool Ridge; two step sons, Wayne Carr and wife Gabrielle of Cool Ridge, Jason Carr of Cool Ridge; three brothers, Cheryl Lilly and his wife Gearlene of Mt.
