Born in Giles County, April 15, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Elsie Holdren Blankenship. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Raynor Whitaker. She is survived by a daughter Chonita Whitaker Williams and her husband Pastor Chuck Williams of Lynchburg; a son Andrew Whitaker of Pearisburg; a step-daughter Vanessa Whitaker Williams and her husband Chuck Williams of Narrows; a step-son Joey Whitaker of Pearisburg; and four grandchildren Jacob Williams and wife Caprice Caleb Williams and wife Heather and Carson and Colton Williams. She is also survived by a sister Mildred French of Christiansburg, a sister Linda Stephens of Pearisburg, a brother Daniel Blankenship and his wife Becky of Pearisburg and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, Virginia. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. on November 11, 2017.3
