Debbie Lynn Hickson died on March 8, 2014 at Virginia at age 48.2 She Debbie Lynn Pruitt, 48, of Boones Mill, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014. She was born in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Roger and Charlene Hickson and had been an area resident all of her life. She loved animals, going for long rides and joking around and cutting up with her family and friends. Her sense of humor was contagious. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Lynn Pruitt, and her very special grandfather, Charlie Long. She is survived by two daughters, Nina and Ashley Pruitt; Her fiancé, Jerry Parks and his sons Christopher and Johnny; her grandmother, Ruby Long; a brother Michael Hickson and wife, Shelley; aunt and uncle, Louise and Bob Basham, and niece and nephew, Sharlene and Magnus Hickson. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. The Rev. Hilton Jeffreys will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 4 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray expenses. on March 10, 2014.2

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. Larry Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
