     Gilbert Wayne Vest Gilbert "Chuckie" Wayne Vest, March 12, 1951 - May 30, 2021. Chucky Vest ended this chapter of life and headed towards a new one on Sunday, May 30, 2021. He loved his music, his smoke and his drink. He was a master wood refinisher and enjoyed playing many bluegrass instruments, of which he had quite a collection. Chuck loved his large family including aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews, and siblings. He was preceded in death by his mom, dad, step-dad, a sister and a brother in law. He is survived by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Spouses of immediate family members are numerous and he welcomed them all. Although Chucky had things to overcome, he enjoyed a simple life, helped those in need when he could and maintained his independence to live his way at his home. A special and heartfelt thanks to the Hospice and Nursing Home staff as well as to all those that made his life worth living. We will all miss you but know that you are suffering no longer, enjoy the freedom!      Joyce Gwynn Vest Joyce Gwynn Buckner, 74, formerly of Floyd, VA, passed away peacefully in her home in St. Augustine, FL, on January 18, 2019, from Pancreatic Cancer. She was born on December 9, 1944, in Floyd, VA, to Buddy and Ilene Vest. She worked as an Alachua County employee in Gainesville, FL, for many years, and in her spare time, enjoyed camping, boating, and sports, especially basketball. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Alan Buckner, two children, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her mother, five siblings, and other family and friends. Interment to follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.⁵ She was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.⁵ She was born on December 9, 1944 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^2,3,5 As of February 10, 1962,her married name was Buckner.³ She married Carl Alan Buckner on February 10, 1962 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,3,5 Joyce Gwynn Vest died on January 18, 2019 at St. Augustine, St. Johns Co., Florida, at age 74.⁵

     Kenneth Joseph"Ken" Revoir II was buried at Restvale Cemetery, 7529 Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.¹ He was born on March 20, 1947 at Oxford, Warren Co., New Jersey.^1,2 He married Shirley Sue Vest, daughter of Erslie William "Buddy" Vest and Ilene Ella Manning, on June 9, 1977 at Roanoke, Virginia.^3,1,2 Kenneth Joseph"Ken" Revoir II died on August 24, 2020 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 73.¹ He Kenneth Joseph Revoir II, age 73, of Copper Hill, born in Oxford, N.J. on March 20 ,1947, went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 24, 2020. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Roseann and Michelle. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 43 years, Shirley Vest Revoir; his children, Melissa (Rob) Vaught, and Cary (Bethany) Guill; grandchildren, Morgan Negron and Brooke Negron, and Bridget Negron; step-grandchildren, Gracie and Martha Vaught; great-grandson, Grayson Rue; his sister, Renee (Jack) Keady; and many nieces, nephews, family, friends and loved ones. Everyone held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly. Ken graduated valedictorian from Oxford High School and went on to attend Catholic University in Washington D.C. Ken served in the Vietnam war as a Huey Helicopter pilot. He worked for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Roanoke, Va., for many years. Ken loved the outdoors (hunting, fishing, camping and boating), loved his stamps, telling stories, being surrounded by family and friends and loved watching the Washington Redskins. He was a devoted and loving partner to his spouse, Shirley, as well as an amazing father and grandfather. Though Ken traveled the world, his favorite place was sitting in peace in the woods in Copper Hill, Va. A special thanks for the nurses and staff at the Va., Care Center in Salem, Va., for their loving care and support during his brief stay and final days there. Interment will follow at Restvale Cemetery in Copper Hill, Va. on August 30, 2020.¹

(Jimmy) Loope, 61, of Roanoke, died on Monday, March 12, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Katherine Williamson Loope. Surviving are his wife, Linda Neal Loope; children, Laurie Loope Miller and husband Chris, Jeffrey Neal Loope and wife Amber; brothers, William G. Ruby was a former employee of American Viscose Corp and had been a child care worker for many years. She was widow of Oakley Wilson Knox and is survived by a daughter, Ivy Pruitt of Roanoke; granddaughters, Linda Harris, Kathy Pruitt, Vickie Hubbard and husband, Jeff, Debby Blankenship and husband, Danny all of Roanoke; grandson, Lewis Pruitt Jr., Roanoke; great-grandchildren, Scott, Tanya, John, Lloyd, Darren and Drew; great-great-grandson, Cory; brother, Ernest Furrow of Boones Mill; sisters, Hazel Nichols of Copper Hill and Nita Spradlin of Vinton.      Ivy Lee Furrow was born on December 9, 1934 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,3 As of February 9, 1952,her married name was Pruitt.² She married Lewis Edward Pruitt Sr. on February 9, 1952 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2 Ivy Lee Furrow and Lewis Edward Pruitt Sr. were divorced on June 22, 1972 at Roanoke, Virginia.³ Ivy Lee Furrow died on March 5, 2020 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 85.⁴ She Ivy Lee Pruitt, 85, of Roanoke, passed away quietly at home like she wanted on Thursday, March 5, 2020. Mr. Pruitt was born June 19, 1934 in Jewel Ridge, Va. and was a son of the late Ira Pruitt and Willie Crawford Pruitt. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt was an Army veteran and was employed for 36 years as a truck driver, first working for Hennis Spector Freight Lines of Roanoke, then for Russell Transfer of Roanoke and retired from ABF Freight Systems of Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. Pruitt was also a member of the American Legion Post #068 in Narrows, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamster Union. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Munsey Pruitt of Narrows; one son, Lewis Pruitt, Jr. of Roanoke; five daughters, Donna Groves of Pearisburg, Linda Routt of Buchanan, Kathy Pruitt of Roanoke, Vickie Hubbard of Roanoke, and Debbie Blankenship of Roanoke; two brothers, Harold Pruitt of Roanoke, Oscar Daley of Jewel Ridge; two sisters, Beatrice Thompson of Pearisburg, Jean Christian of Jewel Ridge; seven grandchildren; a special grandson and buddy, James Groves, Jr; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 24, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg, with the Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating, with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg. on August 23, 1999.²
