Michael Steven Furrow was born on December 4, 1962 at Germany. He died on January 6, 2018 at Glades Co., Florida, at age 55.2,3 He A Louisiana man has been arrested on two driving under the influence manslaughter charges for a fatal crash in January that killed two Lehigh men. Benjamin J. Desjardine, 40, of Iowa, Louisiana, will also face three DUI property damage charges for the Jan. 4 (should be Jan 6) crash in Glades County. Michael S. Furrow, 55, and Robert L. Yale, 71, both of Lehigh Acres, were killed in the crash. A pedestrian, Tracy A. Cypress, 20, of Okeechobee, was critically injured. According to the FHP, a 2005 Dodge Ram, driven by Desjardine, was headed north on County Road 721 near State Road 78 when it swerved into the southbound lanes about 11 p.m. A vehicle driven by Shannon L. Garrett, 19, of Clewiston, swerved to avoid the Ram, hitting the guard rail, the report said. She and her passenger avoided injury. The Ram then collided head-on with a 2017 Hyundai Sonata driven by Furrow. Yale was his passenger. Troopers said another car stopped to help the passengers, and Cypress got out to help. According to the report, a fourth vehicle, a 2011 Ford F-150 driven by Linda S. Tommie, 61, of Okeechobee, then hit the Ram, which was laying on its side, then hit Cypress, injuring her. Cypress was taken to Lawnwood Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
