She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Greenville. She was formerly an active member of Baptist Temple for over 40 years and a former member of Grace Gospel Church both in Huntington, W.Va. She was a member of Beverly Hills Womens Club, the Beverly Hills Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star, Guandott #89, all in Huntington. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are a daughter , Betty Anne Yoder Rupp of Greenville, S.C; one brother, Lee D. Lucas of Wills; two granddaughters, Sandra Diane Rupp of Greenville, S.C; and Victoria Ann DeLello of Winston-Salem, N.C. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Garden of Hope Mausoleum. on July 23, 1991.1

He was also a member of the Keyport Chamber of Commerce, a former member of Keyport Kiwanis Club and a former member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hazlet, N.J., and the United Methodist Men of that church. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason of Valley of Jersey City and a member of Gravel Lodge 273, AF & AM, Union, N.J. He is survived by his wife, Lelia E. Lucas; a son, Donald W. Lucas of Annadale, Va., a brother, Lee Lucas of Willis, Va., two sisters, Lillian Yoder and Alice de Rosset, both of Greenville, S.C., and three grandchildren. Burial was in North East Methodist Cemetery. (He was later re-interred in Wilson Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.) on April 16, 1986.10

He taught Sunday School in both churches. He was a former member of the Masonic Gavel Lodge No. 273, Union, N. J. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Floyd Masonic Lodge #329 A. F. & A. M. of Virginia. He received his 50 years membership certificate in 1997. He served his country in WW II from January 1941 until August 15, 1945 in Company C-the 56th Battalion as Communications Chief 542, during the Normandy Invasion D-Day. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1115, Hillsville, Va. Survived by wife of 52 years, Marie Childress Lucas of Willis; one niece, Betty Rupp of Greenville, S. C; one nephew, Donald Lucas of Pennsylvania. Interment will follow in Buffalo Mt. Cemetery with graveside military rites given by VFW Grover King Post #1115, Hillsville. on May 16, 1999.1

She was the wife of the late Everett Jugler and was preceded in death by her first husband, Lex William Lucas. Born in Troutdale, VA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Rena Testerman Long. Lelia was a graduate of Rising Sun High School and was a homemaker. She is survived by one son, Donald William Lucas and his wife, Margaret E. Brauning of Hanover; three grandchildren, Alexis Lynn Lucas of San Francisco, CA, Lee D. Lucas and wife, Maria of Montville, NJ, and Blaine William Lucas and wife, Wendy of Brentwood, NJ; four great grandchildren, Paige Lucas, Shelby Lucas, Tanner Lucas, & Krysten Lucas; two sisters, Edith Scott of Elkton, MD, and Pauline Taylor of North East, MD.
