Born on September 17, 1943, Don graduated from Jefferson High School in Roanoke, Va. in 1961. After a successful career as Furniture Manufacturers representative in High Point, N.C., he retired to Vero Beach, Fla. Don is survived by his wife, Hope Sink Wimmer of Vero Beach, Fla; brother, Neil Wimmer (Martha) of Burlington, N.C; and son, Hunter Wimmer (Casie) of Concord, Calif. on December 4, 2022.⁵

A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she left this world peacefully with her husband and two children by her side. She married Harold Houchins Ross Jr. on July 3, 1970, at a ceremony held at her childhood church, First Christian Church in downtown Roanoke. She taught school for a few years and throughout her life she dedicated herself to her family, her church and several other causes and organizations. She shared her love of cooking and baking with family and friends and self-published two cookbooks. She also enjoyed crafting, crossword puzzles and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lewis and Helen Hunter Wimmer. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harold; her children, Alison Ross MacPhail and Mark Stephen Ross and their spouses, Joseph C. MacPhail III and Virginia Katherine Ross; her brothers, Neil Jackson Wimmer and Donald Lewis Wimmer; and her five granddaughters, Elizabeth, Ashleigh and Emily MacPhail, and Katherine Joyce and Evelyn Ross. on December 20, 2020.³

Upon their early retirement and when he wasn't playing golf, Butch and his wife traveled the United States on many long journeys. He is survived by their two sons, Steve Campbell (Stacy) and Tod Campbell (Vickie). During his lifetime, Butch instilled in his sons the value of honesty, integrity and hard work. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Andrew Campbell (Ashley), Caitlin Crespi (David), Nicole Huffman (Bryan), Kristin Dunford (Cody) and Emily Wood (Philip); and three great-grandchildren, Elle Campbell, Sunday Huffman, and Sawyer Campbell. Although Bobbie was diagnosed with leukemia many years ago, most were unaware. She was valiant in her fight and determination to have a fruitful life as a happy soul. Bobbie was a role model as a mom and well-loved throughout her life. Her family and friends will miss her dearly until they meet again. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Oakey’s North Chapel with the Rev. Jake Roudebush officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on October 4, 2017.²
