     Jaqueline Poff was buried at Restvale Cemetery, Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.^8,9 She was born on October 7, 1926 at Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,8,9,10 She married Wilson Harvey Blackwell, son of William Isaac "Willie" Blackwell and Eliza Jane/Jean Martin, on June 5, 1951 at Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.^{1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9,13} As of June 5, 1951,her married name was Blackwell. Jaqueline Poff died on February 28, 2016 at Virginia at age 89.^8,9 She Jaqueline Poff Blackwell began her earthly journey on October 7, 1926 as a middle child of James Lafayette and Ocie Adeline Wilson Poff. Her love for her family and friends was endless and beyond belief. She was the center of her family's lives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of over 64 years, Harvey Blackwell, as well as brothers and sisters, Edmund Poff, Murrie Poff, Evelyn Conner, Beulah Vest and Colean King. Jaqueline went home to join them on February 28, 2016. She is survived by daughters, Carolyn (and Doug) Snead, Annette Blackwell and Yvonne Blackwell; grandson, Dan DeMartin (and Edina); and three great-grandchildren. In addition she is survived by sisters and brothers, Sylvia Shortt, Louise and Dorsey Thompson, Wilson and Audrey Poff, Shirley and Emma Poff; sister-in-law, Joyce Poff; and many nieces; and nephews. While she was momma to three, she touched the lives of hundreds of children having taught in the Floyd County School system for over 40 years. She began her teaching career in 1944 at only 17 years old in the one-room school at Mount Pleasant. She retired in 1985 as Librarian at Check Elementary. In addition to her family and students, she loved her garden, flowers and birds. Interment will follow in Restvale Cemetery. on March 2, 2016.⁸

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Conner Poff; son, Melvin Poff; two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Mike Mull, Linda and David Goad; grandchildren, Holly Mull, Kara Goad, Robyn Goad; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilson and Audrey Poff, Shirley and Emma Poff; six sisters and two brothers-in-law, Evelyn Conner, Colleen King, Beulah Vest, Sylvia Short, Jacqueline and Harvey Blackwell, Louise and Dorsey Thompson. Interment will follow in Restvale Cemetery. on March 5, 2002.²

     Walter Ray Fisher Walter Ray Fisher, 77 of New Castle, passed into his heavenly home at 9:58 PM on Friday, May 27, 2016. Ray was a special husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born July 24, 1938 in a small home on a farm in Craig County. Ray was retired from G.E. after 28 years. He was a farmer all his life. He is preceded by parents Walter and Norene Fisher; brothers Clyde and Robert Fisher; sisters Dorothy Fisher, Virginia Snider, and Martha Caldwell. He is survived by loving wife of 57 years Lillie Fisher; son and daughter-in-law Darrell and Ann Fisher; daughters Teresa and Benita Fisher; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special grandson Justin Dudding of the home; sisters Edith Ruble, Thelma Goodman, and Sue Hancock.
