Rod also owned and operated his own publishing company, Fairystone Publishing. Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit E. and Geneva G. Shively; and his father-in-law, Orville Collins. He is survived by his devoted wife of forty-four years, Judy Collins Shively, of the home; his sons and daughters-in-law, William Blaine and Margaret Shively, Blacksburg, Durand L. and Angie Shively, Boones Mill; his daughter and son-in-law, Joy Lynne and Brian Cundiff, Rocky Mount; his grandsons, Ryan Shively and Wyatt Cundiff; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy O. and Betty Shively, Richmond, Steve and Jane Shively, Ferrum; sister and brother-in-law, Margo S. and John Brake, Vinton; his mother-in-law, Mary Collins, Callaway; brother-in-law, Butch Collins and wife, Ruth, Callaway; He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. Interment will follow in the Shively-Spencer Cemetery (Endicott Cemetery). on November 20, 2001.2

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Gordon Arch of Midlothian, Rita and Edward Marston, Smithfield, two especially dear grandsons, Rob Barricklow and his wife, Rebecca, of Richmond, and Wesley Early of Smithfield, and the delight of her latter years, her great-granddaughters, Mary Warren and Ann Turner Barricklow of Richmond. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2 at the graveside in North Fork Cemetery in Ellett. The Douglas family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg. on July 1, 2005.3
