Born May 16, 1911, in McComas, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Berthenia Odle. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the First Church of God on Mahood Avenue in Princeton and it was there that she enjoyed being a member of various circle groups and ladies clubs. She was a retired baker at Mercer County Schools and Concord College. She loved flowers and keeping a garden. Martha was beautiful, and the most beautiful thing about her was her heart. She was a true friend to all who knew her. Her life was devoted to her family, her friends and the Lord. She was preceded in death by Ted Conner, her husband of 64 years at the time of his death in 1987. Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Piersall and Elaine Straley both of Sarasota; two sons, Donald Conner of Matoaka and Stuart Conner of Princeton; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and many countless friends whose lives she touched along the way. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with the Rev. Paul Hall officiating. Burial will follow. Those attending the service are asked to be at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton by 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. on August 20, 2002.1

Akers of Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Nell Epperly and Mrs. Elizabeth Hensley, both of Christiansburg, Va; three brothers, Harry Daingerfield of Redford, Va., Ed Daingerfield of Harrisburg, Pa., and Tex Daingerfield of Va; 14 grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren. A son, Lynn Akers died here July 2. The body was taken to the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Funeral rites will be conducted at the mortuary at 2 p.m., Tuesday by the Rev. Lester Ringham the Central Christian Church. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. on August 21, 1966.4

Elnora was the daughter of Zula Conner Gibson and Clarence Gibson, Elnora attended Maple View Church of Christ and Westminster Presbyterian Churches. Over the years she had been an active member of the community. She belonged to the Bluefield Civic League, American Legion Auxiliary, Gray Ladies and sponsor of a school club. Elnora had been the caregiver for her mother, husband, mother and father-in-law and great aunt until their passing. She had also been the office manager at Howery Electric for several years. She was full of life and generous to all she meet. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; John C. Harry, Jr. a sister; Gladys Lawrence and brother; James Gibson and a nephew; Richard Gibson who she thought of as a brother. Surviving are her daughter; Deborah Sarver and companion Joe Belisle, brothers; John Gibson and wife Lois, Robert Gibson and wife Sharon, Frank Gibson, sister; Ruby Hamlin, grandchildren; Aaron and wife Melanie Sarver, Leigh Ann Sarver, great grandchildren; Elijah and Hanna Sarver, and many nieces and nephews.4 She was born on August 28, 1929 at West Virginia.1,7 As of June 19, 1951,her married name was Harry.5 She married John Calvin Harry Jr. on June 19, 1951 at Alleghany Co., North Carolina.2,4,5 Clisty Elnora Gibson died on October 24, 2018 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 89.4

Conner, 75, of Matoaka, went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton. Born March 23, 1932 at Matoaka, he was the son of the late Ted and Martha Conner. Mr. Conner worked at Kitchikan Fuel Company before retiring as a truck driver. He attended the Lashmeet Church of God. Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 48 years, Phyllis J. Mills Conner of the home; five sons, Donald E. (Skip) Conner, Jr. of Matoaka, Michael L. Conner and his wife Julie of Matoaka, Ricky A. Conner of Union Grove Wis., Ted O. Conner of Lashmeet and Shawn B. Conner and his wife Vonda of Bluefield; eight grandchildren, Candice Fowler and her husband Mylan of Lake Shawnee, Michael Conner, Jr., of Matoaka and Danielle, Ted Jr. (T.J.), Brandi Conner all of Lashmeet, Dustin Montgomery of Wisconsin and Manda and Rachael Mullins both of Bluefield; one great-grandchild, Caleb of Bluefield; and a special nephew, Mark Piersall of Florida. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Revs. Gary Raulerson and Jerry Heaton officiating. Music will be provided by Eddie and Mary Day. Graveside rites will be Monday at Monte Vista Park Cemetery. in July, 1985.1 He died on July 18, 1985 at Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 50; PRINCETON: A 36 year old Bluefield man has been charged with first degree murder in connection with the early Thursday morning stabbing death of another Mercer County resident at an automobile repair garage on State Rt. 112 near Bluefield. Raymond Scott Kidd of 620 Reservoir St., Bluefield, is charged with the slaying of 50 year old Boyden Allen Hamlin of Ada Road. Scott was arraigned Thursday morning before Magistrate Harold Buckner and is being held under $25,000 bond set by Mercer County Circuit Judge William O. Bivens, Jr. Deputy R. L. Boone of the Mercer County Sheriff 's Department's Criminal Investigation Division said hamlin's body was found on the bed in his bedroom adjacent to the garage repair area. Boone said preliminary investigations reveal that Hamlin had been stabbed twice, once in the chest and once in the back. Hamlin lived in the garage alone officers said. Boone said authorities believe Hamlin was slain a short time after midnight. The weapon used in the slaying has not been located, he added. Kidd was taken into custody in Bluefield several hours after the incident by Sheriff's Department Cpl. Roy Compton. No motive for the slaying has been established, Boone said. Other officers assisting in the investigation are Deputies Roger Midkiff and Carl Stilwell and Don Meadows of the Mercer County prosecuter's staff.3,7,2
