He enjoyed going to the Little Country Store and sitting around with his buddies in the Liars Club talking about stuff. Give him something that was broke down and wouldn't work, and in no time he would get it going again. He loved to tinker and piddle around his shop. He fought a hard battle with his health but he accepted God in his life and was ready when He called him Home. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Failous Mason and Alice Regent Main Rakes; and son, Richard M. Rakes. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Rakes; children, Donna Rakes Akers and husband Todd, Melissa Rakes Craighead and husband, Paul; sister, Linda Hollandsworth; two grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Emilie and Brianna; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery. on January 26, 2017.2
