He was born February 24, 1943, in Roanoke and retired as an electrician from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. Mr. Leffler was a former member of Oakhaven Golf Club and a current member of Fox Run Country Club. He was also a member of the machinist union. Survivirig, besides her parents, are two sisters; Jeanne and Janie Leffler and a brother, Wayne Leffler. Interment will be in the Wilson Cemetery in Floyd County. on April 20, 1952.⁴

     Failous Morris Rakes was buried at Piedmont Cemetery, Rt. 11 to Shawsville, turn at nursing home, Rt. 637, about 8 miles on the left, Montgomery Co., Virginia.² He married Alice Marie Workman.⁴ Failous Morris Rakes was born on September 25, 1948 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.³ He died on January 24, 2017 at Virginia at age 68.² He Failous Morris Rakes, 68, of Shawsville, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Morris loved working around his place – hunting, fishing, and raising a garden and his grandbabies. He enjoyed going to the Little Country Store and sitting around with his buddies in the Liars Club talking about stuff. Give him something that was broke down and wouldn't work, and in no time he would get it going again. He loved to tinker and piddle around his shop. He fought a hard battle with his health but he accepted God in his life and was ready when He called him Home. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Failous Mason and Alice Regent Main Rakes; and son, Richard M. Rakes. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Rakes; children, Donna Rakes Akers and husband Todd, Melissa Rakes Craighead and husband, Paul; sister, Linda Hollandsworth; two grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Emilie and Brianna; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery. on January 26, 2017.²

     Linda Elaine Rakes Linda Rakes Hollandsworth, 78 of Floyd, stepped into her heavenly home early Sunday morning, September 14, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hollandsworth; parents, Mason and Regent Rakes; and brother, Morris Rakes. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Troy Thompson and Lisa Thomas; daughter, Danielle Thompson; stepson and wife; Darrell and Tara Hollandsworth; grandchildren, Taylor and Ashley Thompson, Destiny and Dylan Weddle, Callie and Dakota Johnston, Lacey Bishop and Bryce Patrick, Grace and Hunter Gallimore, Maddie and George Bady, Summer and Paul Davis, Hope and Ryan Shortt, Morgan Hollandsworth, Dawson Hollandsworth and Tinley Hollandsworth; great-grandchildren, Bentley Johnston, Deleah Weddle, Addie Thompson, Braxton Johnston, Anna Thompson, Caden Davis, Braylee Shortt, Laken Davis, Austin Shortt, Randall Wayne Hollandsworth; special friends, Margaret Maxey, Stacy Simpkins, Tommy and Gevena Hylton, and Maurice and Christine Simpkins. Though she will be greatly missed, those of us who remain can rest in the blessed assurance that we will see her again.
