The Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Thursday Evening at the Richardson - Horne Funeral Home. on July 9, 1987.2

Born in Roanoke, she was raised in Floyd and Callaway, Virginia. Mrs. Young enjoyed traveling, growing flowers in her yard and feeding the birds. She was a long time member of Garden City Baptist Church. She was loved and will be missed by everyone. Mrs. Young leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter-in-law, Jean Young, of Mooresville, N.C; sons, Carlton R. and Ina Young, Roanoke, Hylton A. and Frances Young, Sandston, Va., W. Tony and Trudy Young, Roanoke; and a special daughter, Shelia Short, also of Roanoke. Also surviving are grandchildren, Patricia Claiborne, Charlotte, N.C., Donald Young, Huntersville, N.C., Tim Young, Roanoke, Scott Young, Check, Va., Whitney Farrow, Mechanicsville, Va., Lori Johnston, Sandston, Va., Brian Young, Guilford, Conn., and Chad Young, Roanoke; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Celebration of Mrs. Young's life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Garden City Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 21, 2009 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road SW.      Freda Louise Poff was buried at Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg, Virginia.5 She was born on March 20, 1956 at Virginia.3 As of August 29, 1974,her married name was Hall.3 She married Carl Lawrence Hall on August 29, 1974 at Elliston, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 Freda Louise Poff and Carl Lawrence Hall were divorced on February 14, 1979 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.6 As of May 30, 1981,her married name was Grubb.3 Freda Louise Poff married Jerry Paul Grubb on May 30, 1981 at Elliston, Montgomery Co., Virginia.1,2,3,5 Freda Louise Poff died on April 22, 2017 at Virginia at age 61.5 She Freda Poff Grubb, age 61, of Blacksburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 22, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Mamie Poff. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years, Jerry Grubb; her children Galena Grubb, Camellia and Allen Ancheril; grandson, Barrett Ancheril; and brothers Ercil Poff, Hansford Poff, and Vestal Poff. Freda was devoted to family and friends. She worked in healthcare, taught Sunday School, loved serving God, and held steadfast to her faith. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor T. Michael Bond and Pastor Chad E. Dunford officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that monetary donations be given to help pay for medical expenses. on April 24, 2017.5

     Ercil Hylton Poff was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.4 He was born on September 14, 1934 at Floyd Co., Virginia.8,4 He married Christine Louise Walters, daughter of Leonard Lee Walters and Cora Lee Smith, on October 28, 1955 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,3,9,8,4 Ercil Hylton Poff died on June 7, 2019 at Rocky Mount, Franklin Co., Virginia, at age 84.4 He Ercil Hylton Poff, 84, of Salem, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 in Rocky Mount, Va. He was born on September 14, 1934 in Floyd, Va. to the late Sherman Rosco and Mamie Bell Poff. Ercil had retired from Lowes Lumber and Hardware after 30 years of service, as well as the Virginia Department of Transportation after 20 years of faithful service. He was last working with Walmart of Salem as a greeter with 10 years of service. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling and hunting, but will be remembered most as a loving husband, brother, and friend to all that knew him! In addition to his parents, Ercil was preceded in death by his sister, Freda Louise Grubb. Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife of 63 years, Christine Walters Poff; brothers, Hansford R. Poff (Trudy), and Vestal E. Poff, and fiancée, Ruth Snead; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services honoring Ercil's life will be conducted on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Dan Carawan officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park; Salem, Va. on June 9, 2019.4
